Re: Fantasy Auction Game: Rosters
Rotations:
*May change based on match up.
PG: Steph Curry (39)/ Kevin Johnson (9)
SG: Michael Jordan (42) / Michael Cooper (6)
SF: Kevin Durant (32) / Michael Cooper (16)
PF: Chris Webber (30) / Kevin Durant (10) / Bob McAdoo (8)
C: Dave Cowens (32) / Bob McAdoo (16)
Starters:
PG: Steph Curry (2015-16)
SG: Michael Jordan (1987-88)
SF: Kevin Durant (2013-14)
PF: Chris Webber (2000-01)
C: Dave Cowens (1972-73)
Bench:
G: Kevin Johnson (1990-91)
F: Michael Cooper (1986-87)
C: Bob McAdoo (1974-75)
Money spent per player:
Michael Jordan - $35
Kevin Durant - $25
Kevin Johnson - $1
Chris Webber - $1
Steph Curry - $35
Bob McAdoo - $1
Dave Cowens - $1
Michael Cooper - $1
Total Money:
$100/$100
Overall talent:
I think I have built the best raw talent team. I have 5 MVPs on my team that I do not think any other team can match. I have 2 DPOYs on the wing. Dave Cowens would be a third DPOY if the award existed as he won MVP in large part because of his defensive work leading the league in DWS. Finally, all my players fit well together.
Offense:
I have 4 guys who averaged over 30 PPG. My offense starts with MJ and he will have the ball in his hand the most on offense. He will have room to penetrate, work the pick and roll/pop, or even room to post up. Curry and Durant provide elite spacing around MJ. There are not 2 better shooters that could surround him at the PG/SF position. They are proving that they work great together this season. They can both also create their own shot. When Cooper is in and Durant moves to the 4, it provides another elite shooter. Bob McAdoo provides even more elite spacing on my team. As Bill Russell said about McAdoo "He's the greatest shooter of all time, period. Forget that bit about the 'greatest shooting big man.' " Webber shoots over 40% outside 16 ft. and is an elite passer. Cowens provides great efficiency and rebounding. Kevin Johnson comes off the bench to provide elite playmaking. Basically, my offense can't be stopped so my opponent better be able to score.
Defense:
I can shut down any wings that my opponent might have with 2 DPOYs in MJ and Cooper plus Durant who uses his length to great affect and is an underrated defender. Curry is not a great defender but is passable and will guard the weakest offensive player. Up front, Cowens is an all-time great defender with a 9.9 DWS to lead the league and win himself a MVP award (voted on by players at the time). Webber is an underrated defender and always had good advanced defense stats. McAdoo is quick and holds his own defensively. With the wings neutralized and Cowens down low, my opponent will have difficulty scoring.
