Steve Novak - 2.7

Total: 90.0/90.0

Strategy
Spoiler:
We've surrounded Dream with a dynamic perimeter group that can hurt you in a number of ways. Vince at this point is still a 25 6 and 5 guy who can score inside, outside, and in-between, as well as being a solid secondary playmaker. Lowry makes things happen with his powerful drives to the rim as well as being a major threat to pull up from deep. With Hakeem and our guards drawing most of the attention, Marion will always be able to scrounge up buckets by making smart cuts to the basket, cleaning the offensive glass, and periodically hitting the outside shot. Oak and Ibaka aren't high-usage guys but can both spot-up effectively for midrange jumpers. Christie is another solid shooter who can also run a bit of offense for us, and Novak offers lethal long-range sniping in small doses.

Defensively, Hakeem anchoring the paint gives us a huge advantage, but we've also given him plenty of support. Oak will apply his tough physical defense to the more traditional post threats, while Ibaka offers more quickness and mobility as well as elite rim protection. Matrix and Christie between them can handle just about any wing scorer. Lowry is a tough defender who makes up for his lack of height with bulldog strength and quick hands. With Marion also able to play the 4 in certain matchups, we feel like we can get stops in a variety of ways.

(75-76) Bobby Jones- 10.6 x 0.85 = 9.0

Total: 90 / 90

Rotations

PG: Cheeks (30) /
SG: Bell (32) / / Doc. J (4)
SF: Doc. J (34) / Jones (14)
PF: Chuck (34) / Jones (14)
C: Deke (38) / Dedmond (6) / Chuck (4)

Stats/Accolades
Doc. J: 29.3 ppg; 11.0 rpg; 5.0 apg; 2.5 rpg; 1.9 bpg; 28.7 PER; 17.7 WS; 10.1 VORP; ABA Champion; ABA Playoffs MVP; ABA MVP; ABA All-Defensive 1st Team; All ABA 1st Team; All-Star
Chuck: 25.2 ppg; 11.5 rpg; 3.9 apg; 1.9 spg; 0.6 rpg; 27.1 PER; 17.3 WS; 9.2 VORP; All NBA 1st Team; 2nd MVP Voting; All-Star

Mo Cheeks: 12.9 ppg; 6.9 apg; 2.3 spg; 9.4 WS; 3.6 VORP; All-Defensive 1st Team; NBA Champion; All-Star
Bobby Jones: 14.9 ppg; 9.5 rpg; 4.0 apg; 2.0 spg; 2.2 rpg; 10.2 WS; 5.9 VORP; All-Defensive 1st Team: All ABA 1st Team; All Star
Toney- 20.4 ppg; 4.8 apg; 17.3 PER; 6.4 WS; All-Star

Team Concept

Spoiler:
I've basically rebuilt a super-charged version of the '83 Seventy-Sixers, (an all-time great team who won 65 RS games and lost 1 total game in the whole playoffs, swept the Magic/Karrem Lakers in the finals.) Cheeks and Toney basically reprise their roles, and Chuck slides in for Moses, but then I rewound Doc. J to his absolute peak form from '76 where he averaged 29/11 instead of 21/6. Bobby Jones I also rewound to his peak form (look at those numbers, he was awesome in that year) But because I also have peak-Deke, Jones is coming of the bench. Similary the much-need 3&D play of Bell slides Toney to a super-sixth man role, where he'd be most effective imo. So yeah, a much better version of an all-time great team, a proven team that worked together I just improved the corner-stones of that group and added a bunch of talent like Deke and Bell.

I have no delusions that this is the most talented or star-studded group in this draft. If people vote largely on that basis we're not gonna get that far. But I do believe this is one of the most balanced, well-fitting, and especially deep teams in this game. Everyone is playing a role that they'd be happy and comfortable with. I have suffocating D and two all-time great offensive hubs, I have a legit third scoring option in Toney as well as the fact that nobody on my team getting big minutes averaged single digit ppg and Five of my guys averaged 15+ ppg. We do not have the high-end super-scorers that some groups do but we have a great, balanced blend of offense from everybody on the court. We'll beat you with fit, high BBIQ, and varied, balanced play on both ends.
