Random Season Draft Thread

Draft Rules:

1. Every season from the 1969-70 season to the 2016-17 season will be available to be randomly assigned to each pick. Once draft order is determined I will use a randomizer to completely randomly select a season that will be attached to each individual pick. I.E. the #1 pick could be assigned the year 2001, in that case the person with the #1 pick can select ANY player from 2001, but only a player from 2001 and they will obviously have to use that season.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players.

3. Each player you select must have played at least 1/2 of the given season. So in normal seasons that's 41 games min. In the lockout seasons just cut them in half, pretty simple.

4. The winner of the draft will be determined by way of a 16-team playoff tournament (more below).

5. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 90.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player. A multiplier of 0.85 is applicable to seasons prior to the NBA/ABA merger (1976-77).

6. We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBABABA

7. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant.

8. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.

9. Draft order will be completely randomized.

10. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet.

Team Roster Page Rules:

1. You will be responsible for creating a roster page for your fantasy team. Here are the things that you will be required to include on your roster page:

. Draft selections
- Selected Season
. The most important of all, you must show the total FGA per player on your roster AND a total sum of each players FGA to display that it is under the required 90.0 FGA

-All of the above must be completed before playoffs begin.

Playoff Rules:

1. After the draft has been completed there will be a tournament style playoff structure. Matchups will be completely randomized.

2. Each of your players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in playoff matchups.

3. Everyone will vote for who they think would win in each matchup. Whoever gets 4 votes first will advance to the next round of the playoff bracket. Please put effort into your votes and write at least a few lines about why you're voting the way you are. Do not write something like "Hawk Eye in 5" or "I vote for Hawk Eye". Put some thought into it.

4. You are not allowed to vote for yourself. If you do it will not count.

After we have a champion the game will end!

This feels dirty on so many levels, but with the rest of my years in mind I'm going to bypass the obvious choice and instead go for a guy who offers probably the best value from 2007-08. Although he wasn't quite at his peak, he was the DPOY, made the All-NBA and All-Defensive First Teams, finished third in MVP voting, and averaged 20 and 10 in the playoffs for the eventual champions. That's quite a mouthful for just 13.9 FGA.

Nastiest duo I could see forming here. I really wanted a certain other player with my top pick but I didn't see anyone I'd be thrilled pairing him with, this pairing works better. two legitimate offensive hubs who are no slouches defensively and only cost about 37 FGA. Pretty reasonable.
