hey everyone,
I'm trying to analyze the effects of scheduling for standings in the nba. I would like to look at two points; how back to backs and the length of team road trips impact the chance that a team will win their game.
by doing this, I think it will help give a much objective measure of how a team stands aside from just their record.
To start, I will probably just go through the data and see what the predicted winning pct is between 2 days of rest, 1 day of rest and a back to back game.
If anyone has any suggestions or wants to be involved, please let me know.
Thanks for your help, advice and criticisms. - See more at: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1279920#sthash.Ko3egl1S.dpuf

Re: Help creating study on NBA scheduling
Hey man I am building a predictor of results during the regular season. I have multiple attributes, three of them are related to scheduling:
-How many away games in a row has the away team played?
-How many days of rest did the away team have?
-How many days of rest did the home team have?
I intend to study the effect of scheduling more deeply in the future. What have you found out so far?
