Global Moderator Tommy Udo 6 Passes Away

Post#1 » by Howard Mass » Wed Sep 12, 2012 9:57 pm

RealGM Users,

This afternoon, I along with many of you got word that Global Moderator Tommy Udo 6 whose real name is George Zieman passed away on Friday.

The news is a shock to all of us here at RealGM and it is simply heartbreaking to lose such a great person.

George Zieman was not only a great Person and Moderator but also a leader and a mentor to many. No offense to anyone on my Moderator staff, but If we ever had a user poll on who the most popular Moderator on RealGM was, he probably would have a good shot at winning it.

How many Bulls Users could be so liked and respected by The Knicks Forum? The rivalry is huge there and it always amazed me how well he got along with everyone not just on the Knicks forum but multiple other forums.

George was one of a kind.

His title of "Global Moderator" truly represented his role on our forums as he was everywhere making people laugh, sharing his knowledge and making this community a better place for everyone.

I am grateful that George was part of our forum for 9 years and that this place that I was fortunate enough to help start up 10 1/2 years ago attracted a great person like George who helped make this community a great place for all of us. It is an honor to have come across someone like him.

All of us including are going to miss George but his name will never leave The Bulls Forum or our list of Global Moderators. It will stay to honor him and his great service to our Forums.

I encourage everyone to share their memories of George Zieman (Tommy Udo 6) here and in the many threads in his honor across our forums.

On behalf of everyone at RealGM.com, our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to George's family.

May you R.I.P. George Zieman (Tommy Udo 6)

You have no idea how much we are going to miss you.

His visits were always welcome, dude was knowledegable, a great poster and never seemed to lose his head. I didn't get into many discussions with him or know him all that well, but it was always a pleasure when we did have exchanges. R.I.P.

A truly class-act guy who transcended fandom as Howard alluded to above. Gonna miss bulls69 (IIRC that washes original username). A true loss indeed

Well that sucks. RIP buddy, I'm never going to post on the moderator transition board again as it is now far more apt. In fact, just lock that board and leave it up forever. What a fitting memorial.

Guy had a great way of conveying things, you could see in his words that he was very knowledgable.
We're proud of the impact he had on all our fourms, as many of yours.

WOW RIP! I always welcomed his posts on our boards, getting an "outsider" view, very knowledgeable, and a class act, my condolences to his family.

You know he was one of the few posters and mods that was universally respected and liked across the board, Rest in Peace amigo.
It is illogical to use logic on an illogical person.
Solution...use even more illogical logic to trump their logic.
