This Celtics team has 2 players we can't guard.

Thomas and Horford.

We should guard Horford the same way he guards the Wizards - let him come down on someone's foot - that will work as well on Horford as it did on Beal and Morris.

Horford is no star. Boston fans hated him and his contract before the playoffs started. Gortat has a problem but Morris should do a solid job. Thomas can't beat us alone and I think teams have shown ability to guard him during the course of a series when you make adjustments. However, I don't care about guarding him. The key is to not let their role players get off

 I don't mind starting them. I have em ready to go

CAN YOU BLAME ME FOR BEING NEGATIVE!?!

This team has holes so wide due to the incompetence of EG.

It's been a fun year but we have to temper expectations. Boston is constructed with better depth and the Wiz aren't.

Our stars face a much tougher defensive road than the last round. Our starting PF is limited due to dirty Horford.

The key problem with this strategy is that Horford doesn't jump, (when he does he fades away). Also Horford probably prefers to drive or post up to the basket anyways.

I'd basically do the same thing they did. Don't let em land. On every jumper. Channel the inner Gregg Williams and be like "Lets go test that knee". When they go low, lets go lower.

Nah but really, just defense the 3 pt shot. They a mediocre team without the 3 pt shot since IS is like the only real off the dribble shooter they have, and maybe Horford.

We are severely losing the coaching battle.

Scott Brooks being outcoached is a staple of his tenures.

Spoelstra, Pop, Joerger regularly coached circles around him in the postseason.

Brad Stevens is probably the best coach in the EC playoffs... I kinda think he might be low key dirty though.. at least he enables that sort of play with his players. I believe his promotion of "playing hard" is great, but he probably just looks the other way on injuries so long as his guys win. The ends justify the means I guess. definitely wish Brooks had that sort of fire. Definitely wish Brooks had Stevens' creativity.

I don't mind if other guys say something bad about him. Like people got mad at Draymond but then I found out Pierce was going off on him 1st. I love Wall but I'm ok with Smart talking trash because Wall always does. If you give it then you have to take it, like Cameron should have done

I agree. People make way too much of a big deal about these types of comments, particularly in the playoffs. It wasn't like Boston wasn't going to try hard in Game 2 until Jennings got them fired up.

At worst, Jennings earned himself some boos from the crowd when he touches the ball. Maybe it'll fire him up. I dunno.

Sure, but other Celtics players do leave the ground. If you can't throw at the pitcher who threw at you, find someone else on the roster.

Looks like John Wall got All-NBA 2nd team. Hopefully the results don't leak to both teams. Isaiah doesn't need an even bigger chip on his shoulder and Wall doesn't need to get more complacent.

This guy is a piece of dirt. The league really needs to come down hard on this dude. Make a new rule penalizing players who even look like they injured someone purposely fining them and suspending for the duration of the victim's injury

All you have to do is win your home games and 1 on the road. For the season the home team seems to get the wins. Regardless of tues outcome, it will be a long series.

I don't think that was the legit all nba teams but even if it were the case, I have more than enough confidence to think that Wall will have the last laugh

With 1 game under our belt and some extra time to prepare, I really want to see how we guard Thomas this game. I screamed during the whole game thread about us letting him go left. That's what he wants to do and it's not that we had a hard time stopping it, but that we never even tried to. We just conceded it despite getting chewed up.

I hope it wasn't the case of both our players and coaches being idiots because it seems elementary to try to force him right so I'm guessing/hoping that it was strategic but for what reason? The only thing I can really think of is fouls. That because he is a lefty who likes to draw fouls that you are scared he's always going to stop and bring his shooting hand back into the trailer but still, we have to then hedge or do something. It just seems like basic common sense to force him right as much as possible but we couldn't do it for some reason.

Also no post ups for Wall when IT was on him but like one I remember and he drew a foul. Just didn't make sense
