good golly that kid is athletic, even if that last highlight on the rider reel is a double dribble.

i'm not worried about gil. i'm more worried about flip and how stubborn he is going to be with his "lead guard" offense. if he ditches it and goes for more of a motion offense, or even the triangle, our team is going to be D-I-R-T-Y.

Well, Flip was already adjusting for a twin-lead guard 'O' late season, so we should be glazed in gravy as far as I can tell.

Gilbert will be a Wizard for another 4 yrs until his expiring in his 5th(the year Wizards trade him) It will defintel be a rollercoaster for you dudes as these 2 plyers are too similar and ball dominant. I just don't see Arenas giving away and relinquishing control of the team to a rookie, Grunfeld will have a full plate on the off-seaon on what to do with Gilbert Arenas, not a very easy task.

I knew it, too good to be true, they just can't draft Wall give him the keys while an Elephant contract in arenas will be in the room for another 5 yrs. Wiz fans need to get realistic about their situation this off-season

If you guys are going to be Wall fans the first thing you HAVE to do is learn the John Wall Dance:

I think i might have to abandon the hawks and go back to being a Wizards fan. I grew up a bullets fan and watched them win their only title in '78 (geezer alarm sounds in the backround).

I moved to Atlanta in 93 and started following the Hawks. I don't even know if league pass existed then and the bullets sucked anyway. I have been a fan of the Hawks since then and it has been tough. One management **** up after another. Drafting Marvin Willaims over Paul/Deron and Shelden over Brandon Roy were really hard to swallow. i think those mistakes are coming home to roost now. Sad to say but i think this is as good as the Hawks are going to get without some brilliant GM moves. I was totally disgusted with them in the playoffs.

I moved back to Maryland 5 years ago and lately i have been looking for a reason to jump ship from the Hawks. Now i may have a good reason. The Wizards are now in a perfect spot to rebuild, with plenty of cap space, some young talent and the number 1 pick. Good time to get on the bandwagon early.

A touch of the sweet tweet...

@STEIN_LINE_HQ RT @ESPNAndyKatz: Wall camp genuinely pleased w/Wiz as top pick. Perfect situation in post Gil Arenas-mess. Wiz need star/face of franchise

I think dimemag is trying to make something out of nothing. Here is what Ernie said,

EG: We were going for the best player available, regardless of position. And now we have our choice of everybody. We also have a pick late in the first round and one early in the second round, so we’ll have to do our research on that as well. But having the No. 1 pick is outstanding and I know our fans back in D.C. are very excited about it.

Dime: What’s your early scouting report on John Wall?
EG: First thing is he’s very competitive. He’s a high-energy player and he’s a winner.

Dime: Thoughts on Evan Turner?
EG: Well, he’s a multi-dimensional talent who can play multiple positions. I don’t want to go through the whole Draft, but we’ve done our due diligence on a lot of players and will continue to do so all the way up to the Draft.

Dime: Does this change any plans you might have had regarding Gilbert Arenas?
EG: Nope. Gilbert is still with us. He’s in the gym working out and getting ready. The more good players you have on your team, the better, and he’s a great player.

The best player is clearly Wall. And there is no reason for him to say they are going to dump Gilbert since they can get Wall. That would make no sense.

A couple of Wall quotes from espn:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2010 ... id=5199392

"I finished the semester with a 3.5 and people thought I wouldn't finish school or blow past it since I knew I was going to the NBA," Wall said. "It made me feel good because people say I'm not smart enough or I don't take my school work seriously. But I took it seriously both semesters and finished with a great grade point average."

"I'm working on all the angles on my jump shot," Wall said. "My jump shot is the key thing. Guys go on the pick and roll and will force me to knock down shots. I want to be one of those point guards who knock down shots you have to get over the top. I want to make it easier on my teammates. I'm not going to take bad shots but take shots that are open for me. I feel like I can be a great defensive player when I put my mind to it for the whole game, not just half the game."

sounds mature and focused!!

Someone start an 'Irene Pollin Appreciation' thread!

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

When he shoots a ton of bricks - he'll be Pink Floyd. When he's on the chilling list, he'll be Wallflower. OK, forget the negative stuff, it's all positive tonight.

When he signs his first contract/ endorsement deal he'll be WallPapers!.

The Wall.

Wall-E (Sczerbiak ain't got shiz on him).

John Wall is a franchise player folks...i was drooling over this kid since he was in high school. He might of gone ahead of Blake last year if he had come out
