F' those who say that. And f' management who makes them believe that.

Seriously.... F U...

The perception around the league of crummy ownership under Pollin hasn't change one bit since Leonsis has taken over.

In Washington it's ok to make the playoffs every few years, it's acceptable to be mediocre. Uncle Teddie primary concern is the perception of competitiveness, not so much that the team is actually competing for anything worthwhile.

Leonsis doesn't give a flying **** about a championship, in his mind we're already defeated.

I wouldn't be surprised if the wizards finish either 2nd or 3rd in the east this year. Aside from the new and improved Cavs in the east, one of the Wizards -Raptors - Hornets or Bulls should be able to beat out the Pacers for second place. The Wizards were underrated last year and with another year of experience should be tougher to beat this year.

East is wide open now. Pacers being the favorites... but we showed everyone in the semis that we arent far away from them when healthy. If we gel this year, if we get Ariza back, if Porter is the goods, we could go all the way.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I wouldn't say the Wizards were underrated last year, the team was wildly inconsistent for most of the season. Everything finally clicked in the playoffs so you hope that continuity carries over. But there are still some questions to be answered, most importantly Ariza.

Chicago is on the verge of signing Gasol. If true, I think they are the favorites not Indy or Cleveland (unless CLE gets Love).

Pau isn't as 'washed up' as some people think he is, the guy is coming off of a 17/10 season. A frontcourt rotation of Noah/Gasol/Gibson (and no Boozer) is easily going to be the best in the East.

Sorry about the vim. In NYC, and had a few drinks. And sick of the snark that says that we must accept a failing strategy.

No worries. But still - I don't think that a few of us refusing to get angry after every single move other teams make is the same as us saying "we must accept a failing strategy". That's all I'm saying.

We signed Gortat to a reasonable deal, and have Wall/Beal. Porter has some potential (we hope), but we'll likely lose Ariza.

There were just no major free agents we can sign WORTH signing. Bosh? He wasn't available despite everyone assuming he was.

The Nene deal hampers us the most, Gasol would have been nice. That being said I still suspect he stays with the Lakers.....would shock me if he leaves LA. Have to think Chicago is just driving up his price.

I think DC can certainly attract free agents, exponentially more than just two years ago. We just need one or teo more deep playoff runs. Don't forget, despite being in L.A. the Clippers couldn't attract a decent free agent for 10-15 years.

I guess it depends on how Rose bounces back since he's the only guy on that team that can create offense out o nothing but I say the favorite still is whatever team Lebron's on. As icky as it is to admit, Lebron's so darn good that he can be on the Bucks and still be odds on favorite to make the finals.

LA has two problems:

1. They doubled down on an unlikable player whose largely done.

2. In the best draft in a decade, they didn't jump up from their slot.

LA has 2 major positives:

1. It's the most popular city in sports to play in.

2. It has a history of competitiveness that is unparalleled in basketball when matched w/its attractiveness (Boston has the history, but lacks the same level of attractiveness)

This is why even when LA collapses, they are merely a good draft pick away from becoming a top contender again because the second they look capable of contending, free agents will come for the sun, the marketing, and the history.

They are in an infinitely better position than we are, even saddled with Kobe and his horrible contract, and no assets to speak of.

We as per usual, are on the upside of our trajectory, which is a 5 seed, and escorted out of the playoffs immediately by any half decent team.

If anything positive is to happen for us, it hinges entirely on growth from Wall and Beal, continued health for the big man, and Porter turning into something other than the manure that was his value this year.

If LAL had offered Kobe a 2 year $38 million contract, this free agency could have been much different.

Here's hoping Houston can swoop in and scoop Love like they want to.
Keep the guy out of Cleveland and watch Lebron squirm the next couple years.

A league source said on July 17 that the Cavs are now willing to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft.

Wiggins, a 6-foot-8, 194-pounder, has played well at the Las Vegas Summer League, where he’s become a crowd favorite. The former Kansas star has averaged 13.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in the Cavs’ first three games. However, he’s shooting just 37.8 percent from the field.

Up until this point, it was assumed the Cavs wanted to hang onto Wiggins, largely because of comments made by Coach David Blatt.

However, a source said James wants the 6-10, 250-pound Love on the roster.

And, what James wants, he normally gets.

That's kind of sad that it took Lebron stamping his feet, holding his breath, and having a hissy fit in order for management to realize that they should go for Love.

LeBron returns to CLE to be Player/GM

Step over Kobe and MJ

Now lets see if Flip holds on or caves. I expect him to cave. Lebron knows the sooner he gets Love there the sooner they can start to gel.

If Love stayed in MIN one more year, I think he and Rubio would have a really good year together. But its probably best they just let him go, cash in and build from there.

I think Zach LaVine and Glenn Robinson III are going to help them.

I actually like some of the pieces MIN has

http://espn.go.com/nba/team/roster/_/na ... mberwolves

They also have Gorgui Dieng, Chase Budinger and Nikola Pekovic.
I have wanted Dieng and Pek on the Wizards in the past.

The biggest problem I see on that team right now is they need vet leadership in a player that has playoff experience.

They need to add their Nene.

And they need to clean up the poop that is Shabazz M as soon as possible.
