Predict the Wizards record in 2010-2011
Schedule is out. Rosters are mostly set. As always, the winner gets a large check from Pine. Have at it.

I hope nobody is going to put so much thought into this that they felt the need to wait for our schedule to come out.
36-46.

Probably a little early to predict, but while we're at it...whats the deal with the Wiz backdrop on their web page?
http://www.nba.com/wizards/index_main.html
Looks like someone ripped the tiles down from a cheap public restroom and put it on the Wiz webpage.

Re: Predict the Wizards record in 2010-2011
Never understood how you could predict them this early. We haven't even seen them in pre-season or know who will be healthy when the season starts.
WTH....Looking into my crystal ball... its getting clearer.... I see something....
82-0 AMAZING
Or I could do the safe middle of the road thing....41-41 or there abouts...
But it's anyone guess at this point. Anywhere from 30 to 46 wins. Need to see them in camp first and see who we have healthy to start the year.
Ted is building with the long term in mind so there is no help on the way. They are going to throw them out there and see if they have anything to keep. They mean loosing at the expense of evaluating and growing. EG starting cleaning out the roster on his own and now with Ted they are keeping it really flexible so they can add players later when needed.
With the CBA around the corner and so many young players at center, a lot has to go right. If not, we could easily be down around 30 wins. Hard to tell if our offense and offensive style will be enough to over come a weak center position if it ends up that way.

They will be around .500 Basketball, maybe alittle worse being so a young team.

It is early and my prediction is subject to change. I am drinking the Kool Aid right now.
This Wizard team will be far better than .500.
49-33

Meh, I'm with Mike Prada at this point... 32 wins. But they'll be super exciting wins!

That sounds about right to me. I think they may only win 12-14 games the first half of the season. However I think they will come on strong the second half and look like a play-off team(win 18-20 games).
I think Wall will productive from day 1, however I think he will be far more effective once he gets some experience. I also think it will take Arenas a while to shake off the rust and get comfortable playing off the ball. I don't think Josh Howard will 100% this season, but he will be a lot closer at the end of the season. I also think it will take Booker and Yi a while to find their roles on the team. Also Blatche probably will need a month to be back and at 100%.
I think Nick Young and Hinrich are basically the only guys I expect to be their most effective the begining of the season. This is probably Nick Young's last chance as a Wizard.

Re: Predict the Wizards record in 2010-2011
I'm saying 33 wins, though I think that will be fairly close to the 8th seed.
Too many rotation players with question marks and or little experience, zero continuity and a lack of established 'presence' players to do dirty work inside. Many of these guys have never even met each other, so everything's pretty well slapdash and I don't see how we're making comparisons with last year's team as far as "Wall adds X number of wins". Closing out last year, it was 0-16 before being 5-4, so it remains to be determined as to what the X number of wins is being added to.
It's going to take time for things to come together on both ends and until then, I'd expect quite a few turnovers and overall breakdowns.
That said, they could still make the playoffs with the look of the lower middle east this year. Charlotte looks respectable, but if one from amongst Captain Jack or Crash go down, I'd say they'd be in a spiral and you'd have two slots up for grabs.

Re: Predict the Wizards record in 2010-2011
I'll go with 31-51, I think the floor is probably something on the order of 23 and 59, and the ceiling is probably something like 37 and 45. Hoping for the low end, w/a nice second half. I'd really like to get a top 5-7 pick if possible. I know the draft looks iffy right now, but if we could land one more player it would be huge. I suppose the ugly truth is really, '09 was when we needed to add a Steph Curry, or one of the other hugely talented kids that ended up being low balled in evals, and ended up far better than expected. I really feel like were one more very good player away from building something, we might not have needed a high pick in '11, if we'd simply not flushed the '09 draft down the toilet w/our stupidity, but if nothing else, at least some of that misfortune was turned around by the luck on lottery night three months ago.
Still, too good, too fast, we'll leave us perpetually short of actually being an elite team in the East. We either need to suck and get lucky w/a great pick, or we need to sign a FA difference maker in '11 or '12 or '13 to make that run. One way, or the other. Too good too fast, and we'll be like the Jazz in the west have been the last few years, and the hawks became recently. A good team, but not quite good enough to ever truly matter. It's a tenuous balance, and a huge deal to our future.

With less than 30 games missed due to injury to Arenas or Wall.
50-32.
Arenas averages 27ppg,5apg. Wall puts in 20/5/5. Blatche 18/8/4. The team is somewhere around a 4-5 seed in the Playoffs.
With more than 30 games missed due to injury to Arenas or Wall.
38-44. Team misses the playoffs.

A large check huh...show me the money.
Records are irrelevant. The Wiz will make the playoffs, that is all.

Here are the the final Wizboard predictions for the last two seasons.
WizBoard 08-09 Season Predictions
WizBoard 09-10 Season Predictions
The Wiz board average prediction for the 2008-2009 season was 38 wins. The Wizards actually won 19 games that season. The Wiz board average prediction for the 2009-2010 season was 45 wins. The Wizards actually won 26 games that season. Historical evidience indicates the Wiz will win 19 games less this season than the average Wiz board prediction in 2010-2011.

Such power in our hands.
82-0 (Well, really 63-19, but I did my part.)
If it turns out that our predictions don't really have any influence over the outcome, I'll revert to my other guess:
37-45, quirky outside shot at making the playoffs. (I hope that doesn't mean they win 18 games.)
If they pull off some sort of shake up transaction prior to opening game, I retract my prediction. If they pull off a devilishly clever trade at the deadline, I retract my prediction. If I turn out to be wrong, I retract my prediction.
