Official John Wall Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Zonkerbl » Wed Oct 13, 2010 6:14 pm

Can you believe we don't have one of these yet? I went back to the draft and there's a draft thread but no actual "OMG I love John Wall" thread. Feel free to merge if I missed it.

I mean ok, sure, season hasn't started and it's too early and blah blah blah. Whatever. I think you can seel already that Andray and McGee and Jianlian and all the young guys play harder and better because Wall is there (with all due props to Heinrich and Cassell). Something about him, not just his passing ability and his defense, infects the players around with the desire and ability to excel. I think if McGee and Yi bust out this year it will be largely due to John Wall's inspirational leadership.

He may be a little like Jason Kidd -- never really exploding off the stat sheet but the kind of player everybody wants to play with. You know you will have a culture of winning with him in your organization.

I hereby dedicate this thread to John "Lunchpail" Wall.

Doesn't he have to achieve something and then retire/traded to get appreciation thread? Isn't this a bit early to open?

A shrine would be more appropriate.

No, shrines are for scrubs who for some strange reason are enormously popular despite their ineptitude. Laron Profit, or whatsisname, Mr. Potatohead. Ruffin.

My shrine to Yi may have to be renamed if it turns out he is not teh suck.

I was lucky enough to be on the correct baseline when John Wall had his break away dunk. He is a game changer...no doubt about it!

I appreciate John Wall, so I dig this thread. I hope he is a life long Wizard (or Bullet) and becomes a big, big star.

I can't believe we actually ended up with John Wall!

I keep pinching myself to see if its real. I'm still waiting for Al-Farouq Aminu or Cole Aldrich to come out in a Wizards uni.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Thanks for starting this needed thread, Zonk.

The thing that is amazing about this dunk is that it's with Wall's "off" hand! He's a 20 year old rookie and I don't think there are 10 (maybe 5?) other NBA players who can do this.

I've ♥ John Wall since his high school days. As a Knick fan, I'm jealous that he wears your uniform.

I think "The Great Wall" works. Or uh...maybe a song from "The Wall" by Pink Floyd...maybe just "The Wall"...

Johnny Ballgame.

Aka Johnny Balls.

I just hope Sammy Cassell teaches him the ten-pound testicle walk.

I love Wall's game and am really excited about his future here.
At this point in time I hope he plays his whole career here.

that said, I met him last night at the planholders party at 6 flags.
He wasn't that personable. I also finally met Gil for the first time.
Gil was MUCH more charismatic and friendly. Gil had a big smile
on his face pretty much the whole time I saw him. Wall not so
much.
