Wasn't Elton Brand amnestied?

Yes, he was. However, Brand was decent last season and I expect him to have a good season.

Eddy Curry has a chance to be most improved with SA. He could beat Blatche for MIAP

It is true Curry was waived by the Twolves at the end of his contract, but it was not done using the amnesty clause. They used the amnesty clause on Milicic.

Did anyone here Ernie the PR man this morning on the Junkies? The season hasn't even started yet, and the excuse machine is already up and running full speed ahead.

Lurch from the Junkies said that the projected wins for this team is around 30, and Ernie couldn't even argue against the number because he already had the 'injuries' excuse as a counterargument.

Who's fault is it that the team had no backup plan in-case Wall went down? I was saying this even before Wall got hurt...it's important to backup your starting point guard and center spots, because those are the two most important positions on this team IMO.

Who was it that posted from an article about lazy GM's and that most NBA GM's work only part-time? I think it was PIF. Please re-post that here again.

So much for "a lottery finish being unacceptable." Ted sayeth:

Because of the NHL lockout, Leonsis limited his thoughts to the Wizards, who have been a test of his patience since he bought the team in the spring of 2010 following the death of longtime owner Abe Pollin. Washington is 43-105 under Leonsis' stewardship, and he said at the draft in June that another appearance in the lottery would be "unacceptable."
Now that camp is under way - with former No. 1 overall pick Wall on the sidelines nursing the early stages of a stress injury to his left knee cap - the expectations are a bit tempered.
"We would all find it unacceptable if we finished with the second- or third-worst record in the NBA this year," Leonsis said. "That would be a failure, and the failure would start with me."

I missed this one. Looks like we're aiming for 4th worst! Go Ted!

Now I want the 2nd or 3rd worst record just to see what would happen.

Honestly, what can he do? Fire Wittman? (another step backwards IMO) Fire Ernie? (now were talking)

Even if Ted keeps Wittman and lets Ernie go, were in such a terrible situation moving forward that we may be in the lottery for the next 3 seasons.

When you are in a hole, the first thing you do is stop digging. Right now we're still digging. So, yes, fire Ernie yesterday please.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

"I was very disheartened by our effort last night. I have great empathy for the frustration that our fans are feeling. We improved on a key metric in getting to the free throw line, but were unfortunately unable to capitalize on our open shots. We are young and have great upside. We have great veteran leadership. I love hot dogs. Thank you."

That made me laugh out loud.

What will stick with me from this game is the all you can eat seating being advertised and watching Ernie and his stooges chewing gum in synchronicity.

I wonder what flavor the pringled one prefers.

Until the last line, it was a totally believable quote. Maybe the last line too.

His ownership has been an unmitigated disaster. Its unbelievable how many mistakes and reaches he's allowed under his watch. I am seriously beginning to question whether or not he's capable evaluating clearly or if he's dug in too deep defending his plan.
