Sounds like some supreme core strength. Middle linebacker or guard.

she got a fair number of minutes and shot 2-4 so that seems reasonably good.

I didn't get to watch it all, &^%#@ traffic. But what I did see she looked solid.

and SLHS JV 'won' the scrimmage

Yeah, LB or FB is the way it looks now, but height/speed/grades/health over the years will be what determines how far he goes. If I had to guess I would say he will be freakishly strong throughout.
Bye bye Beal.

Wow- Macho Camacho just got declared brain dead after getting shot a couple days ago.

Apparently was sitting in a parking lot in Puerto Rico in his car, when another car drove up and shot him in the jaw with a 45, which then went through his spine, his carotid, and out the other shoulder. Yes, the press in PR went into all this stuff in gory detail.

Not a huge boxing fan, but always a tragedy to see this happen to anybody.

I really don't care for it much when someone says "no problem"
in response to my saying "thank you". I believe the correct response
is actually "You're Welcome". It actually makes a lot more sense
given the situation than this modern alternative.

I prefer "you're welcome," but don't mind the other. It's a little analogous to "de nada" and similar phrases that somewhat function to (presumably graciously) minimize the magnitude of task/gesture that motivated the "thank you." A very thought provoking byway. Thanks for bringing it up.

Should we change the Wizards name to the Generals?

To look on the bright-side.

I've been lurking for awhile. I always felt I really don't have a lot to contribute, because there are a lot of knowledgable people on the board...that said I always have an opinion :)

Everyone always says we should build a contender instead of a pretender.
What if by some fluke, even with a horrible FO, we develop a really good core of
Wall/Nene/Beal/2012 draftee

Every game the Wizards play hard and they are very close. What if we become the Bulls?
For example, everyone says we are not good because our two best players are off the court.
Nene has improved the team....Wall should make the team better. I think we are missing that elite scorer who is efficient and who is not scared.....

What if Wall is an elite PG?
Is that elite scorer in the draft?
If we got that person, and the team stays intact....what is our new ceiling?

You have to suck bad in the NBA to get lucky..is there someone who could do that for us?

excited to see Jacqui's first JV game tonight. From what she has told
me re practice and scrimmages, she might well expect to see the floor
a bit more than she did as a frosh (which was hardly at all). We'll see.

Oh man, South Lakes/Herndon. That brings back some memories. I went to SL for all four years Scottie Reynolds was at Herndon, saw him tear us up quite often. We had a guy year younger then me who would always sit by the Herndon bench and yell curse words at Scottie.

My Freshmen year was the best. That was the last year we played them twice(after that we left their district). They beat us in both regular season games, but we beat them for both the district and regional championship.

in case you missed this in prior posts of mine

I went to HHS, class of 75 (yeah I'm an old fart)
My daughters go to SLHS (we live in Reston)
My younger daughter is on the SLHS JV team.

What years were you at SLHS?

I graduated in 06, was there from 02-06.

Do they still make Beat Herndon shirts at SL? I always thought that was really lame.

Also, is Christy Winters-Scott still coaching the girls? She's hot as hell.

CWS is the varsity coach and is definitely easy on the eyes.

She has a son in Reston Little League where my younger one umps
so we see her at RLL games as well as in her role as head of the SLHS
girls hoop program.

I really wonder what she was like as a player. I know she led SLHS
to an undefeated state champ season and then was on a UMd final 4 team.
