VORP is the likelihood that an assist cuts somebody's head off.

VORP is Value Over Replacement Player. At b-r, they're using it with their Box Plus/Minus system, which estimates a player's plus/minus (expressed in points scored/allowed) by using his box score stats.

I get that he stayed in Spain for the money, but wasn't it also a function of PT/opportunity? He's playing like 16 mpg over there.

EG didn't offer a guaranteed spot.

And yes, he is tearing it up. Watched a couple of games - he has really improved. I think part of it is he is playing the wing now and not PG. IMO, better than Webster of last year. Rice, Temple and Porter this year.

Drove me crazy that he signed Seraphin instead of Satoransky - sigh. Wall would have made him look really good.

Do you know if his contract has any wiggle room/buyout clause that could land him here?

They have moved him to SG and he just seems much more comfortable. His D is much improved - no stupid shots, no stupid passes - just a very solid game. Just much more in control - solid.

If we really wanted an athletic point guard to go along Miller:

Nice. Intriguing how this might work out. He's a 2nd rnd pick so IIRC, we can negotiate whatever
contract it takes to get him over here. That could cut 2 ways I guess. But it could mean that sometime
in the next 2-3 years, we add him to the roster and presumably that would be in addition to whatever
player we actually drafted that year. That said, beware of counting unhatched chickens.

Funny how he was complaining earlier that he doesn't want to play for the team now he wants to.

I've said all along that I think the perfect compliment to Wall/Beal is to sign Tomas and then an Aaron brooks type guard(Brooks, Lou Williams, Cory Joseph, Jose Barea, CJ Watson). Shooting, defense, IQ, ball handling, rebounding, etc. are all covered and each if them could play with each other without too much duplicity.

Shouldn't you wait until he actually puts a Wizard jersey on before you hail another EG move? :D

He wasn't complaining, the two sides couldn't agree on a contract. Sato was set to make more than the NBA rookie scale in Europe so it was understandable. We subsequently gave Temple a 2-year contract, Temple will be our back-up PG until we sign someone else.

Hope he keeps getting better. A tall PG who is young would be invaluable...

Satoranski could be the backup PG/SG option this team so desperately needs.
