Agreed. I'd much rather gamble on Cousins than Bynum.

Gasol reportedly benched down the stretch of a recent LAL game. What about Gasol to TOR for Bargs+Calderon? The Lakers get a 3pt shooting big for D'Antoni's offense, plus saves some luxtax dollars next summer. Toronto gets a true post presence as they continue to try to remake their team.

Man, I know Gasol is bad on defense, but adding Calderon + Bargs as main rotation players just makes me laugh (and the coaches cry) defensively speaking. They would have Nash, Calderon, Bargs, and Jamison in the rotation, though at least they would be closer to being able to play SSOL.

^ Hey, it would be a great chance for Dwight Howard to earn his money on defense! :D

The Hornets are changing their name to The Pelicans replacing the Wizards as worst team name in the NBA.

That was my thought exactly.

Seriously, what kind of mascot are they going to have? No-wonder there was that story about MJ'S changing the name of the Cats back to the Hornets.

NYK looked great last night, I really think Amare is going to mess up that flow. And also still feeling like the Lakers would be interested in him. Add in the reported interest by TOR in Gasol and...

Lakers trade: Gasol
Lakers receive: Amare

Raptors trade: Calderon, A.Johnson, Klieza, and first
Raptors receive: Gasol

Knicks trade: Amare
Knicks receive: Calderon, A.Johnson, Klieza, and TOR first

LA gets a guy that's a better fit with Nash/D'Antoni and hopes he can stay healthy. Toronto upgrades their frontcourt without moving anyone from their core. NYK gets out of Amare's contract and adds depth plus a pick.

The pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. If the change happens, it becomes a certainty that the team will move to... I don't know... Idaho? :)
It is not possible to formulate a counter-argument. Is so!

Wiretap with a feed that says PHL is looking for a bench scorer.
Thought they had one, N1.
Is "holding government to account" what you think Fox News does? You may as well say that The Flinstones holds the big university scientific establishment to account. (not original)

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they meant a forward?

If so, how about sending Bynum's expiring (and maybe something else of value) to MIN for Derrick Williams and JJ Barea? Philly adds scoring punch, while Minny takes a chance on Bynum while maintaining cap flexibility.

Queue the Pelican't jokes.
..let's keep in mind that while the Wizards were trading for Okafor and Ariza, giving away a draft pick and cap room, bypassing the free agent market and rejecting a trade for Harden, Leonsis was publicly congratulating himself for being smart. - Nivek

Actually Bobcats is the worst team name in the NBA. Zero on originality, zero on interest, zero on memorability, it doesn't even have any alliteration. Makes Wizards and Pelicans look great.

Actually Lakers is a pretty sucky name for an LA franchise too (it worked in Minnesota) but it has so much history behind it you have to give it props now.
[quote="Nivek"] This post could come only from a Wizards fan. It somehow combines delusional optimism with soul-crushing pessimism.

It's [The Bobcats] also the franchise naming equivalent of a vanity plate, a vanity plate that is pun based even.

In a draft redo, wouldn't Monroe be the #1 pick?
