Nivek, I was trying to find earlier today a site where you can look at shooting percentages from various spots on the floor (corner 3 specifically). I think you mentioned one earlier?

The thing that eats at me - If the Wiz don't extend him, what's the good of him improving here and then just signing somewhere else? The Wiz aren't supposed to be a farm team to develop players for the better teams (pretty much every team year after year) in the NBA. If you believe in the guy, extend him now.

The Wiz - We don't send players to the D League, because we are the D League.

But I thought they didn't develop players.

Funny though. I was thinking pretty much exactly what you posted just the other day.

Thanks Nate. Awesome. 59% from that corner. As I thought.

What young players have they successfully developed? Webster may not be ready for the meat grinder in Logan's Run, but being an 8 year vet, I don't consider him a kid.

Funny though. I was thinking pretty much exactly what you posted just the other day.

Even that doesn't change my mind.

Ruz, I liked that flick, too!

Image

http://blogs.amctv.com/movie-blog/2009/ ... of-log.php

What do You Only Live Twice (1967), Logan's Run (1976) and The Incredibles (2004) all have in common? Here's a hint: Bond uses it to traverse a dormant volcano, Logan a domed city and Elastigirl an island. That's right! They all feature automated pod cars -- a mode of transportation that manages to be scifi sexy, but in reality hasn't fared nearly so well. Until now, that is. A project at Heathrow Airport is hoping to make pod cars a reality -- and it's not the only one. Fasten your personal rapid transit seatbelt because the pods are finally leaving the station.

I googled the image because for whatever reason I remembered the girl in Logan's run. Might have been a teenage puberty thing at the time. :) Come to find out that movie has something in common with my all-time favorite movie, The Incredibles. (Great theme song on You Only Live Twice. Adele tears it up singing the theme to Skyfall). I digress and will get back on topic ...

Martell Webster is still a young guy. Wonder what movies he likes?
Bye bye Beal.

CCJ, that was good 70's sci fi, and Heather Menzies had that Farrah Faucet hairdo thing going for her.

And they found a way to avoid Social Security and Medicare. :o

Avoided Social Security and Medicare? So did the person who came up with another 70s sci fi.

Webster is only playing well because he is in a contract year. He knows this is his last chance at a good guaranteed contract.

The Wizards with this fool of a GM will probably extend him to an insane MLE type deal for 3 years.

So here's what you do if you were Ernie:

1. Offer him an extension, 2 yrs maybe $6.5 mil, it's a raise. He's a fit, team gave him a chance.

OR

2. If his agent declines, field offers and see what you can get. Some playoff team would be willing to give you a first round pick for a shot in the arm and shooter off the bench come playoff time. Only problem is that this might send a message to the team that we're still rebuilding, but it's just business. Parlay whatever success he's had into a pick or trading away a bad contract.

John Wall is going to help get Martell Webster MLE money. Probably from Ernie :-(

"Soylent Green is people!"

That's a classic.

It almost wants you play a fill in the blank game:

Jan Vesely is bust!

Kevin Seraphin is _____!

Good thing Webster like it here and he feel like a core part of what is going on.

I am no cap expert but I assume we will be able to resign him with a cap exemption. Right ?

Plus maybe they can move 4.5M of Booker and Crawford for expiring and picks. That is if they have no place here. Should be interesting to see what happens at the trade deadline.

Look where he ranks for 3 pt shooter now.

What a total steal. He only cost 1.6M this year.

Yes. We can resign Webster as long as he costs less than the MLE (and God I hope he doesn't cost that much). Signing him will put us close to the luxtax threshold (within $3-5M), but not over.

I'm sure Ernie can't wait to "reward" another player with a phat contract.

My best guess as of now... 4 yrs - $20 million.
