Agreed. "Teach Me How to be Doughy" may learn a few Andre Miller-esque tricks.

There's no doubt that he'll lose the extra pounds in a month's time or so and be back to normal, but that's not the problem. The problem is that he put on the pounds to begin with. It says a lot about him, even if you want to blame the medical staff for completely shutting him down.

Remember how we ridiculed Andray Blatche for being fat? We should ridicule John Wall for the same reason.

Furthermore, I'd be more sympathetic if someone could find me some pictures of a fat out of shape Derrick Rose right now. I'm willing to bet there aren't any, because he's still in great shape (at least his upper body). And that's the difference between the two players.

This just adds another red flag to the list, IMO, and it doesn't bode well for Wall's realistic potential to be a star in this league. More and more, it seems like he just doesn't have "it"

Andray Blatche was easily 30 lb overweight, I don't think they are in the same realm of discussion. Not to mention the fact that he had previous transgressions to leave us to believe his work ethic was pretty questionable. I'm going to give Wall a pass this time.

John didn't get the memo that doing the Dougie is not widely considered a suitable workout regiment.

John Wall: Ready to play if pain-free
Updated: January 9, 2013, 4:18 PM ET
Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- John Wall says he's tired of wearing suits and is ready to put on a jersey -- perhaps as soon as this weekend.

The Washington Wizards guard said Wednesday he'll be ready to make his season debut Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks if he can get through the next couple of days of practice pain-free.

Wall looked in good form at Wednesday's practice. During a scrimmage, he stripped a player, raced down the right sideline and went high with his left hand for a dunk.

The former No. 1 overall draft pick out of Kentucky has been recovering from a stress injury to his left knee cap, diagnosed in September.

Coach Randy Wittman says doctors need to give the final clearance before Wall can play.

The video from today's practice (from what you can see given the worlds worst camera work) makes Wall look good to go, just have to hope he feels good tomorrow.

He also doesn't look particularly out of shape to me, certainly more more than 10 pounds as Randy indicated and nothing that won't be fixed in a month or so.

Only came away with 3 things from that video:

Wall is definitely over weight.
Wall's shoot mechanics look the same.
The longest shooting streak they captured was 2 shots.

All I came away from watching that video was that he didn't limp like RG3.

Isn't a professional athletes metabolism supposed to be higher that? I'm no nutritionist, but all I eat is junk food and can go days without working out, and don't gain any weight because of my high metabolism. He's off for a few months and now has man boobs? Can someone more educated explain this?

On a positive note, Adidas is switching Wall from their Reebok sub-brand to the main Adidas brand.

I've never trusted Reebok shoes, and I've personally had terrible experience with their shoes from a performance perspective. I feel a lot better about Wall wearing Adidas footwear going forward.

Of course, that also means that the days of Wall getting his own signature shoe might be over.

Wall weighed 196 at the combine 2 years ago with only 5.6% body fat. He wasn't a skinny guy before he got hurt. I think these weight concerns are a bit overblown.

I agree. I still say play Wall to where he has 5 very good games and trade him for a gold mine in the way of draft picks. Tank this season and rebuild not having to re-up Wall.
Bye bye Beal.
