Can I give my prediction? I know I'm late, but please put me down for 25 wins.

I unfortunately missed out on making my prediction.

I texted my friend about a week before the season started that I thought we'd get 37-40 wins this season, even with the injuries. So since I'm late, go ahead and put me down for a record of 40-42.

Don't quite see that happening as much now that we're 0-7 and the pessimism is growing day by day, but oh well, that's what I said to my friend, so that's all I have to go off of, so that's what I'll be sticking to I suppose. Then again, if Wall and Nene can return in the next 2-3 weeks, I still believe we can be a .500 team or so. We'd need to go 40-35 from here on out for my prediction to be correct. Seems like a bit of a stretch, but it's within reach.

If the zards go 0-16 before Nene and Wall get back, they'll have 66 games left to play. If they play .500 ball the rest of the year they'd have 33 wins and miss the playoffs.

God, this franchise sucks.

You shouldn't really begin that sentence with "if".

Is it too-late to change our win-total to that of last years Bobcats?

It looks like my prediction way back on page 2 of this thread never got put into the final list. While I'm pointing this out, I'd like to add that there was a typo in my original prediction. Whereas I typed "37-45", what I REALLY meant was 17-65 (or maybe I meant 7-75 . . . I'm having trouble remembering -- ask me in March).

Yeah, but 17-65 or 7-75, it'll be the best ever!

I think mid-20 wins is doable. I'm feeling good about my prediction...

Bump. If Wall comes back against Atlanta, that is the start of the rest of the season. Predictions for the last 49 games? I'm going to optimistically say they are a .500 team, and will go 25-24.

They are 5-28 now playing at a .152 win pace. They win 1 and lose 5.6 games currently.

Let's say with Wall they're twice as good. That projection would give them a .300 pace, which over 49 games is about 15 wins and 34 losses. Their final record would be 20-62, but I think they'll finish slightly better than that.

If they play .400 ball the rest of the way it would be 20 wins and 29 losses and give them 25-57 for their final record at best.

I think they'll finish around 22-60.

Best possible: 30-52 (That will take the 25-24 winning pace so boldly predicted above).
Worst case: 16-66 (That will take an improved 11-38 pace. I can't see them staying the same pace for only 8 or 9 wins and a 13-69 season. That won't happen).

If the Wizards want to pull a Redskins and make the playoffs, it will take an IMO impossible: 40-42 or 35-14 the rest of the way
Bye bye Beal.

I see how it is, you don't want to be associated with the 38's...Is John Wall going to get me 33 more wins?

I think we'll get to 20 wins, capped off by a 7-2 record in April

I was really looking forward to watching Wall play after a summer of working out with coaches and training camp. I'm steeling myself for disappointment, which could be severe, since he's supposed to be our franchise savior.

Slightly off on a few things, but overall, my back is going to be pretty sore from all the patting I'm giving myself on this one.

I'm such a homer, but I thought 40 wins was doable, then Wall got hurt.

I look at their remaining schedule, I see 6 wins, MAYBE 7 if the Lakers don't have Kobe or Gasol. Other than that, 30 may be hard to come by.

Based on how they've been playing since Wall returned, they project to 33 wins. Dangit -- if only Wall had come back a couple weeks earlier, they'd be right on target for the 37 I predicted. :(

And, had they been healthy, they'd be right on target for the 44 I predicted.

I'd like it noted that I (moi) am the one who predicted the level they are playing at right now as the level their healthy team would be at.

And that I still didn't -- and don't -- like the Okariza trade or most of Ernie Ugfield's off-season moves.

(Edit: also worth noting that some of the biggest "homers" and EG supporters predicted way below what the team is capable of -- recognize yourself in that observation, Hands ?? :) )

Yep -- you and I were in agreement on the Okariza trade. Didn't like it then, still don't like it now. Didn't like it when my preseason analysis projected 37 wins. Didn't like it when my "full health" projection would have had them at 44 wins.

It is interesting to see how many homers predicted fewer wins than some who didn't like the trade.
