It's all-good CCJ, I was just surprised nobody discussed this earlier. Steinbergs article came-out 3-4 days after the AM 980 interview. Good discussion.

We are going to need them to lose with a full deck of cards. Hopefully this streak is the high point of the season so EG can get canned by season end.
And yes I'm a fan but I'm not going to get caught up in a feel good run to end the season. Not again. It's ridiculous how having the 3rd worst record in the NBA since 2003 can have a guy keep his job.

How has this fallen to page 2?! Looks like alot of heat from fans and media to fire Ernie has faded. This would be tragic

It fell to page 2 because most Wiz fans have given up hope that Ted will come to his senses and do the right thing.

So where is the clock on this count down.
I have been watching these kind of threads for years now. That is one slow ass clock.
If its going to happen. Its going to very likely be at least another year. That was always the case. Ted signed EG to a two year contract. That mean EG was going to get...
Two years.

Ernie will never be fired, he is Wizard GM for-life unfortunately, as was Unseld until he retired.

Lets remind ourselves again how Ernie has destroyed the franchise.
1) He is paying Max money to a part time role player(NENE) who has many years left on his contract. He may be untradable.
2) We have nothing to show a 20-62 season it appears. Vesley,Singeton and Mack may all be out of the NBA in a few years and none of them actually play for the wizards
3) Outside of Beal and Webster, the team has nobody who can hit an outside shot. Just a terrible group of players playing on the same team.
4) Another terrible season down the drain with nothing to show for it when he traded our pick for Foye and Miller.
When you have 2 miserable seasons and get nothing for it(Ie--good draft picks)...that alone will set a franchise back 10 or so years. Inexcusable that he is still here.
5) wasting 2nd round picks for a team that has no decent depth
6) Not trading for James Harden
He has done some good things
the Okafor/Ariza trade has had a good return but that trade was made with no vision of ever having a great team. A .500 team.
Serphain was a decent pick
Crawford trade was good
Did we really need to trade up to get Booker? But Booker is a decent role player(10 minutes a game). No offensive skills whatsover.
AJ price was a better signing than i thought
Webster was a great signing.
the bads severely outweigh the good. Wow..how does he have a job?

Grunfeld took over the Wizards in 2003-2004. Since then, the Wizards have a record of 295-470 -- a winning percentage of .386. That's the 3rd worst winning percentage during this time period. Minnesota and Charlotte being the only teams that won less often. Minnesota is 7 games behind Grunfeld's Wizards.

10 years of futility going on 11. It's just incredible how this franchise just accepts losing like it's a tradition.

I won't judge Ernie based on what he did under Abe. Frankly I find it tough to judge him because I think he does a lot of what Ted asks him to do. he had what has turned out to a be a solid offseason. Beal was a good pick, Webster was a very solid addition at a very cheap price, and the Okariza trade is turning out to be ok. Ariza is still terrible, but Okafor is playing really well and he his trade value has increased immensely. We could get a lot for him at this deadline or ideally in the summer if we choose to. If we don't, we still have an expiring who is giving us good production in the meantime. Now is this all enough to offset the terrible '11 draft? Is it enough to offset hiring Wittman? Not sure and a lot depends on how the season ends. I want to see what he does by the deadline before I evaluate him for next season.
Just to be clear, this is an evaluation of now...not his past. I would have 100% let Ernie go last offseason. I'm basing this off of the fact that he's here now, and what are we going to do next.
