I missed All Star Weekend Rookie/Sophomore game. Could you link me to the Jan Vesely highlights, please?

I'm expecting big progress on this front. Vesely is currently totaling 88 points, 82 rebounds and 81 fouls. He really has slacked off on the fouls lately, it's discouraging. Fortunately, EG has shrewdly added Jason Collins to the fold. Collins is the all time Master at fouling. This season he is totaling 37 points, 52 rebounds, and 74 fouls! With Collins as a veteran mentor, Vesely is sure to get back on track.

Whit needs to get Seraphin out of the rotation and give Vesely the limited minutes (7-10) at backup center. I know Vesely is a BUST but I've had enough of Seraphins turnovers and overall selfish play. Plus I want to see some Wall to Vesely alley-oops.

How awesome it that. Gives you something you something to look forward to not doubt. Do you have project numbers of the Collins effect on Ves.

Anyway he should've been dealt to Celtics if EG wanted to justify trade as Salary cutting one.

True, but that would be admitting to the colossal failure of the 2011 draft, instead what will happen is that they will quietly let Ves go back to Europe after not picking-up his option. Ves has zero value in trade unless it's help another team unload their trash.

A tweet for Vesely during the All Star Break:
"Working out to be an All-Star"

My first thought was, if he want's to be an All-Star, why is he doing squats in a freaking Smith machine? Is he a girl? What the hell are the Wizards trainers teaching him? You do squats with free weights to force you to strengthen your core, back, and stabilizing muscles.

He's also bench pressing in the smith machine.

That's ridiculous. As a professional athlete, 1, you should be using free weights to train your stabilizers.
And 2, a smith machine is counter balanced so he's basically leg pressing 180 lbs. Comon JAN your a professional ATHLETE.

we are getting nothing from a lottery pick that we got as a result of a horrible season. THat is tragic and unforgivable. How does Ernie still have a job??

Not just the lottery pick, but entirely blown drafts featuring the repeated dumping of 2nd rounders. How Ted could have ANY confidence in a scouting team ( headed by Grunfeld) that was unanimous in drafting Jan Vesely 6th. Be very afraid if we pick outside of the top-5 picks this year.

Not to mention the amount of weight he's lifting in each picture is what I'd expect from a kid trying out for his high school team.

...high school chess team, that is.

He's got 225 pounds of weight on there. Squatting 225 with free weights all the way down beyond parallel would be pretty decent given his long limbs. But if he's really only doing half squats of merely 195 pounds (after factoring the Smith machine counterweight), then that's horrible.

The bench is horrible. It looks like just 135 pounds minus the Smith machine counterweight, so about 105 pounds.

Smith machines do nothing to hit your stabilizers and force your muscles to lift in an unnatural movement. It does nothing for strength training and is unsafe with heavier weight. I don't get it. This is an NBA franchise. Are there really no trainers telling him this?

Bench doesn't worry me that much (even though it's pretty light weight regardless) but the squats are pretty weaksauce. In a game where leg strength and core strength is key, he can only do 225? And both on the Smith?? I hope he actually does freeweight workouts and just didn't take of pic of it.
