If Gasol continues to be a wreck, why not combine the three of us?

Gasol comes here, Okafor to Toronto, and Bargs + Ves to LA.

This is a few days old but i hadn't seen it posted:

Sam Amick of USA Today heard from multiple sources that new agent Dan Fegan would like to steer Cousins to the Wizards since it would reunite him with Kentucky teammate and Fegan client John Wall.

I think it takes Nene, to get the deal done, but that isn't a strong arguement against it to me. If we took on bargs, the Lakers might be able to unload Meta World piece on the Raptors.

We'd probably be cut out of the deal because Toronto would much rather have Gasol than Okafor. I'm sure Toronto would include a bit more incentive to compensate for the Vesely subtraction.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Nivek wrote:Blatche is better because he's actually doing what some of us were recommending -- he changed his game. His shots are coming from closer range, and he's shooting a better percentage from that range. His long 2pt attempts are down 50% even as he's shooting them better than he ever has in his career. Whether this significant change in how he plays the game is because of coaching or a personal decision or because he read some message board, the net result is that he's far more efficient offensively than he's ever been even as his usage has gone up.

It's not like Blatche is doing the same things in Brooklyn that he was doing in DC. He's a different guy. I give him credit for making the change and showing what most of us thought he was capable of doing -- if only he'd have changed. He probably needed to hit the rock bottom of being amnestied to do it, but he still deserves credit for changing.

Exactly. Blatch's issues with the Wizards were not handled with any intelligence whatsoever (player development, coaching, etc.). He had shown flashes of excellent play when he was in shape. Yes, he was inconsistent and allowed to play his way instead of the right way but that was because there was no penalty (bench time) for doing so. The team never should have put him out there game after game when he was not in shape to compete. It alienated the fans to such an extent that management felt forced to amnesty him. Blatch should have sat on the bench until he was in shape and proved he was willing to play the right way. Our FO stinks.

I posted almost this exact deal right after the D'Antoni hire, but with Ariza going to LA isntead of Vesely to give the Lakers more athleticism and outside shooting. I'd do it, and maybe even see if we can still dump Vesely on TOR and get Calderon's expiring in return.

I wonder if that means they'll make us pay through the nose because they know this is what the agent wants.

Seraphin/Crawford and top 5 protected.

Wall/Beal/Muhammad/Nene/Cousins looks great to me....

The low post passing of such a team could give a chance to play like "Grizzlies-east"

If we did get Cousins...and he plays competently with Wall...I doubt we get Shabazz though :/

It should be the opposite. The more his agent tries to limit the potential suitors, the smaller the demand for Cousins and the smaller the price.

Nah, at that point Nene will have a "setback" with his foot and we'll rest him. Or we'll think of something else. If anybody can find a way to still lose, it's us. LOL

Seems like we've cooled on the D Williams trade talk with Minny...

Anyone still interested?
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

ME. I prob have about 50 posts on here screaming for us to get DWill.... I want him way more than Cousins. Anything other than Wall or Beal to give them is cool with me. Minny loves white guys so I assume theyd want Vesley. So Vesley, Ariza and Crawford for DWill and filler works for me.

LOL. Ok, I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one wanting D Williams. Not sure if I want him more than Boogie (why can't we get both???), but he would certainly infuse some much needed talent

I wonder if Sullinger her might be available. I don't think he will be more than a role player, but any addition of young talent would be a good thing. Maybe we can fool them into thinking vesley is the Chezch Garnett.

My guess is that Hollinger is a big reason why Gay would be shopped. By any statistical measure, Gay's performance doesn't measure up to his salary obligations. The only Gay trade  I'd consider is one for Nene simply because Nene's value as a part time player is limited and I suspect foot problems will hamper him the rest of his career. Also I suspect Gay will be a more tradeable asset a year or two from now than Nene will be.
