Wow, not sure what to say either way. I'll have to think about that one.

In this draft? What is there to think about? Nene is 30, hurting, and signed for big money for 3 more years. This is a a very weak draft with a low likelihood of our pick becoming a star. Kevin Love is a star, 24, and one of the best PF's in the game. I do this all day.

Would anyone be interested in a Josh Smith trade? Someone make it work. Or make it twerk.

Depends on what Atlanta wants to do. Do they think they have a shot at signing Dwight Howard? If not, how much salary are they willing to add? Salary cap considerations aside, will they ever move Horford to PF full-time?

Nene for Smith could be interesting, depending on how much salary the Hawks want to add and how confident we are that we can extend/re-sign Smith. Or if we can get a pick from somewhere (maybe for Crawford?), then something like Okafor+Booker+pick for Smith might also be competitive with other offers they might get.

I used to live in Atlanta and watched Smiths first few years. I actually own his jersey but i don't want him here. His current TS% is about the same as Beal. He refuses to accept that he has a lame jumper and tries to be Jason Kidd in transition.

Imagine Smith getting a defensive rebound and trying to lead the break himself rather than giving it to Wall. If Smith was here you would see that a lot.

Sorry to bug ya. I just saw a lot of trades in this forum, but there doesn't seem to be much interest on the Wolves end.

I think both sides undervalue said players proposed, so not very enticing. Swap Booker for Seraphin and its worth considering. I want a "known" commodity coming back for Seraphin.

Can they resign Smith, and for how much? His current rate of pay is pretty steep (not Gay steep, but still). He's been relatively injury free, which makes his $13 million a year on par w/ Nene's $13 million a year, but I like a healthy Nene a lot more than Smith. Also, while I like Smith's strong moves close in, he doesn't bring much in the way of shooting away from the basket, which (as nate33 pointed out) is premium need with Wall on the floor. I like Smith's defense (or I used to, at least) but I wonder if his athleticism-based game would hit a sharp decline in the middle of the next contract. I'd hope for something in the 3 year, $30-million range, and something tells me others will pay more. He seems like a Rasheed Wallace-type final piece for a team that's almost there.

Smith would be a risky sign at this point for sure. The Hawks have less than $20 million in salaries committed for next year so they could resign Smith easily. Not sure if they will. I think they will make a run at Howard. Atlanta is Howard's hometown and Smith/Howard have been good friends since elementary school.

Guys get back on the rudy gay topic. You guys want Smith but not Rudy lol there both big contracts atleast nene wants to win and works hard and is a leader while I do like Smith but we dont need a PF right now.

Love is a different story smaller contract and get rid of nene contract .

Smith expires, we could essentially get out of nene's contract with him...but he isn't going to resign here and I can't think of many PF's on the market actually worth going for. Still not really digging acquiring Rudy Gay. Banking to hard on nene actually being healthy if we get him.

Smith is a much better player than rudy gay honestly. I don't know if ATL wants Smith back. He's an unrestricted FA and according to the WireTap today they've been exploring trade options. Apparently Smith is real pissed off with how the team's playing and was suspended for a game.

I don't Minny would do my Nene+unprotected #1 idea b/c Nene is a little too old. Perhaps they'd do a 3-way where we send assets obtained in a Nene trade+our unprotected #1 for Love. Off to the Trade Checker!!

There's no match for Josh Smith. We won't trade any good assets unless we know he's going to stick around and Atlanta isnt interested in taking back salary. Question, could we trade for Smith conditioned on him signing an extension?

Posted this on the trade board:

Wiz trade 2013 unprotected 1st+Nene for Love
Philly trades Turner+Hawes for Nene
Minny trades Love for Turner+Hawes+Wiz unprotected 2013 #1

NEW LINEUPS:
Minny:
PG: Rubio/Ridnour
SG: Turner/Barea
SF: AK/Shved
PF: Williams/Cunningham
C: Pekovic/Hawes

Philly:
PG: Holliday/Ivey
SG: Young/Wright
SF: JRich/T. Young
PF: Nene/T. Young
C: Bynum/Kwame

Wiz:
PG: Wall/Price
SG: Beal/Temple
SF: Ariza/Webster
PF: Love/Booker
C: Emeka/Seraphin

WHY FOR PHILLY?
1) They get a really productive big in Nene to allow Bynum to ease back into playing.

WHY FOR DC?
1) They form their team around a Wall-Beal-Love core.

WHY FOR MINNY?
1) With Nene gone and Love out for roughly 8 weeks, the Wiz will be pretty bad an end up with a likely top 3 pick. Moreover, they allow Derrick Williams to be the PF full time and get a young wing in Evan Turner who fills a huge need. Furthermore, Hawes fills a need as a productive backup center who fits Adelman's system to a T.

^ Very intersting mhd. I was unsure about Nene+pick for Love at first, but seeing the final lineup has won me over I think. I might even put Vesely at backup PF in that scenario and look to move Booker+Crawford for a pick or a legit third guard type.

Sorry guys, I do not mean to rant but I am really getting tired of this being called a weak draft. they have some really nice talent in this draft. they only reason why we are in the situation we in is because of E.G. drafting like he is ordering off the dollar menu at McDonald's. we need to draft smart! there is plenty of talent in this draft. (unless half the class stays in school lol) We should not give up on a loto pick, just for something that might. make us contenders if we stay perfectly healthy. That's what f***ed us in 09.
