You dislike Gil for his "shot jacking". Never mind that he was hyper-efficient. And now you're a fan of Crawford?
Try again.

Not only that, but Hands fails to realize just how much of a FAIL this thread is. He's basically arguing that Crawford is about as good as an injured Gilbert Arenas.

Is hands still at this?
There are probably quite a few seriously injured guys that Crawford can outplay. Don't want to be limited in our thinking.

Man I wish I was so injured I could average 38 minutes a game and mix in some 40+ minutes ones with
three 50 minute games.
After he took some time off, he came back to play his 2nd and 3rd game back at 44:00 and 41:00 mins
on back to back nights.
Where do I sign up for that injury.
Ok, I think I will let this go for now. Its obviously upsetting to some. I would rather get pumped up over Beals new 3 ball and Wall and Trevor returning.

A Jordan Crawford possession consists of dribbling aimlessly, accidentally using screens, and jacking of bad shots (if he hasn't already turned it over). I don't think "mentally special" is the right word for that

Hey Hands11 I enjoy your positive energy and spirit regarding Crawford. Seem you are less bias on this forum, and judge player by effort rather than pop trends.
have my props...

Absolutely! Given his efficiency and 40 shots, that should about do it.

Nearly anyone in the NBA could average 26 pts with the "right amount of touches." Except maybe Vesely.

Actually all it would take is him starting at PG, continuing to hit his 3 ball like he has recently and getting some fouls called when he drives.

Just make sure to start a thread next year comparing Crawford's fourth year with Arenas' fourth year.

Does he get to start at PG with a green light to shoot ?
I wanted him starting a PG while Wall was out. That is why I compared him to Gil. He was starting at PG for 5 games and should have gotten more changes there starting last year as back up PG. Now they backed off and he is back to SG mostly.
Right now he is in Jamal Crawford, JR Smith range who are both top 10 stating SG for winning teams.
You'll are such babies sometimes. This board is to talk about things. Go back and read the first post I made and when. It isn't absurd. It was intended to start a conversation. There are similarities. It's ok to use the all mighty Gilberts name in a comparison. No, they are not the same player. I said that in the first post.
My God people. Lighten up.

Even for you hands, this Gil/Jordan comparison thread is pretty hilarious. But keep on doing your thing.

Re: Crawford vs Arenas 3rd Year Comparision
1) Arenas was 2 years younger, shot 40 points higher from 3, drew more fouls, and was injured. Coincidentally, the Wizards were a 25 win team that season.
2) Jamal Crawford has started exactly 0 games for the clippers this season, draws more fouls, and shoots 20 points higher from 3.
3) J.R. Smith has started exactly 0 games for the Knicks this season, and plays much better defense.
So I think that meshes in nicely with what other people are trying to say. Crawford has improved and would be a great 3rd guard but he's not starter material. He's improved up to what Arenas regressed to. Why is this such a bitter pill to swallow?

Crawford vs our other guards

He hasn't stopped getting better yet.
Huge leap in his 3 ball. from .289 to .352
TS% .522
If he was playing more PG, he would get more FTA and that would look even better.
Not bad for a guy who was playing injured all year.

Not sure what makes you think that. Indeed, the numbers this year indicate that he gets fewer FTA's at PG:

Same sample size.
Here are his first and last games starting at PG this year.
http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400278027
8 FTA
http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400278110
12 FTA
In between, he had games of
HOU 2, LAL 0, MIA 0, ATL 2, ORL 2, DET 0
The 12 and 8 attempts were his two highs for the year.
It was only over 8 games so not that large of a sample size at starting PG this year.
Why did I think he would get more attempts as a PG?. It was just an off the cuff remark based on him picking when to drive more often and getting some calls if he was truly playing PG.
He had his season high attempts while starting there. Zero attempts against LAL and Miami. Not surprised. Specially with how little respect the team was getting and more specifically how little refs give JC the call.
But it doesn't really matter. He isn't going to be starting nor even backing up at PG that much as long as Wall and Price are healthy. I would rather that be the case. He will get some spot duty here and there but nothing I would consider, playing PG for the team.
