Short of those 2 teams there really isn't a scary play-off match-up in the East. It would be an uphill battle to take a series against a team like Atlanta on the road, but I wouldn't count the Wizards out if they can get themselves in that position.

We need to add depth because our starters can't continue to carry this type of minute load.

Seemingly, in time, we'll get a bit of a boost from Harrington's return and from the addition of Porter. Having Beal back will help too. We really need to add a rotation-quality big. Are there any playing in China that we can add after their season? If not, our best/only choice may be to trade expirings for someone like Bass/Glen Davis/Frye, etc who have an additional year of salary at a chunky cost.

What's the status of The One True Singleton?

James Singleton would be an awesome player for our bench right now.

And any one of a number of backup PGs.

Biggest weakness on the team as we all know -
no rotation quality 3rd big
no rotation quality 2nd PG.

Gotta beef up the bench though. The starting 5 is real good, but we don't get enough out of the reserves.

And then they were 3rd.

Try it on for size. How does that feel ?

I expect some more local coverage like... Redskins suck... but hey, those Wizards are .500 and in 3rd in the East.

Season ticket holders should be happy around now.

James Singleton... still kills me that Grunfeld couldn't bothered to pay the guy... AJ Price would look pretty good right now compared to Maynor as well.

Feels like they are in range to take another step.

Beat some really good team in OKC, GS, MIA, and now POR along with CHI twice.
8-4 run

Wall now an AS
Now over .500
Now over .500 at home.
at .500 on the road

Playing inspired defense.
They are hanging right there through a tough part of their schedule.

Getting my chilled glass out. Might have to take a sip if we beat SAS on Wednesday. That might get the booth going.

Oh its own.

Just caught the 980 Wizards segment and they asked people to call in with predictions...

What percent chance do the Wizards have of winning the series.e

Most people said between 51% and 90%

The booth is going to be going nuts.

Time to break out the Kookaid.

Looking like they will be getting out of the first round.

I'll take a couple gallons of Koolaid.
Should last me until the Eastern Conference Finals.

I this will be my last comment on EG until the end of the Wizards play-off run.

While I don't think EG has been good at all, I will admit that he has been lucky. Probably the best move of his career was dealing Kwame Brown for a reaching his prime Caron Butler. If he can recreate this, he could still be GM and the Wizards could be in better shape.

He has a couple assets that could be used to make similar deals. Although he could be a very good NBA player, the potential of Otto Porter is a lot more than the production. Dealing him for someone who is in his entering his prime and on a rookie deal(or cheap extension), could really improve the Wizards near future even if creates potential salary issues .

If he continues to play well, I think Nene could attract the interest of teams who want to contend right now. Houston and OKC seem like obvious candidates with some young talent they could offer in exchange.

Normally the S&T market isn't that great, but with the Wizards being willing to take actual players it could open up options in dealing Ariza and Gortat.
