When does James Singleton get back from China!

I'm curious to see who we grab from the d-league....I'm hoping for Summers and Wright

Morrow went for Dahntay Jones, Brewer went for a 2nd, Brooklyn couldn't unload Marshon Brooks....what value did Steez really have?

The question now is who do they go after this summer. Based on their pursuit of Gay and Smith, its apparent that Ted is trying to make a big play. Unfortunately not having expirings and a lack of development amongst Seraphin, Boomer, Vesely, Sngleton, and Craword's attitude hurt us. This summer we have two large expirings, one who is good for a double double heading into a signature FA class. Who are the established vets that teams might shop this summer? Horford, Ryan Anderson, Aldridge, David Lee???

well there players who would be more valuable to us than barbosa and collins lol. but 5 of the 7 really have no place in the league I just like the number 7.

But Jorge Gutierrez and Andy Rautins and having decent season in the d league and actually would be more valuable than barbosa.

Rautins, can shoot the 3, well. he actually won the nba d league 3 point contest.

Gutierres, have a respectable 3pt shot in college, and he is athletic and can defend very well.

so yeah i mean hell, we made such a bad trade, we need to make some more call ups, to replace barbosa, who we jsut got and lost with in 5 seconds of getting him, and we might as well call up a center to since collins will probably never play a game with us.

Well, for all we know E.G. probably did not even realize that barbosa was injured... lol. but no, not jsut them, every team in the league is laughing at us right now, and every international team, every WNBA team, and every D league team, and every college team, every independent league team, every rec team, every high school team and every other kind of team that there is and every single former player, writer, annalist and fan.

E.G. line of thinking
Melo and crowder are getting paid about a mill or under for 4 year, but barbosa is only getting paid 800K for one year and hes a vet who can score, YES lets get him he can teach beal and every thing!!!! Let not waste time developing talent, let OKC, denver, and the rest of those chumps do that, with barbosa guidance on the court we can win now!.

5 minutes after the trade,
Well....... ok, ill spin this off like i knew he was hurt the whole time, I am a dumb a** so they would expect me to make such a dumb move knowing that he was hurt, huh, i am a genius.

that is just a little look in to the brain or lack there of, of E.G.

Would you guys be interested in Stuckey(8.5mil expiring) & Jerebko(4.5mil 2 years left) for Okafor & Ariza. This trade would save you 9.3 mil this offseason.

Thought I just had...

Why didn't we get in on the Ronnie Brewer trade?

The Knicks traded Ronnie Brewer for the Thunder's 2014 2nd round pick. That pick is 99% going to be 55th or worse, so it's pretty much worthless.

The Wizards have the Knicks' 2013 2nd round pick. That pick is probably going to be around 53rd - 56th or so, so it's equally worthless. Especially considering how many of you have commented following the Crawford trade that the Wizards do not value 2nd round picks at all.

So why not offer up that borderline worthless 2nd round pick of ours (from the Knicks) and get an excellent defender in Brewer for the rest of the season? I mean, I get that this season is basically over for us, as far as playoff hopes. And I get that Brewer is expiring, and unlikely to want to return next season (he seems to be at the point in his career where he wants to be a role player on a winning team, even if it means minimum contracts). So I suppose there wasn't really much point in making a trade like that, but I mean, considering the type of trade we made instead yesterday... yeesh.

^You answered your own question. What does Brewer give that we can't get out of Ariza/ Webster?

Who is marginally better than Garrett Temple. I'd rather keep Temple and see what he brings. Temple can play a combo guard and is relatively young.

Because we are tanking at this point. Tanking by playing "the right way", but tanking nevertheless. Sacrificing a future pick (however low) for a marginal increase in production for the next 25 games makes no sense at all.

No.

The problem is that that $9.3M in cap savings doesn't help much. As it stand now, the Wizards project to have a payroll of $61M at the start of free agency this summer. Effectively, they have the $5M MLE to play with and that's it. (It'll probably be used to resign Martell Webster).

If the Wizards make this trade, they will have a payroll of $52M at the start of free agency, leaving $6M in cap room. I'd rather have $5M in cap room plus Okafor and Ariza instead of $6M in cap room plus Jerebko.

Good point. Do we have the ability to take on a max type of contract in a trade and use the pick this year Nate?

He can't shoot. I'd rather bring up someone from the d-league

Return to Washington Wizards
