Official Andre "The Professor" Miller Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by dlts20 » Sun Mar 30, 2014 5:30 am

the real 7 day Dray.....lol

Ernie has sucked but I think we can all admit that the Gooden-Miller moves make us so much better and more fun to watch even if it did come from his own original mistakes.

Back to the professor. Im a boxing fan and he just reminds me of an old school boxer who doesnt have much athletic ability but has mastered all the angles and is so much smarter then everyone else on the court. Just knows how to play the right way and make all the smart plays. Clinical, surgical. Sometimes I almost wish Wall wasnt so good because I dont want Dre to come out. What a great duo they are turning out to be and he's the perfect change of pace & style to Wall. Could serve us well in the playoffs.

I know everyone thinks Witt is a super huge Beal fan but every coach loves vets and I could see Witt going to Dre alot more in the playoffs if Beal isnt playing well. He will let the young guy play through his mistakes in the regular season and also save the old guys legs but in the playoffs I could see that changing or atleast its great to have that fall back option. There is no dropoff anymore and alot of times we get better with that 2nd unit. If Nene comes back and Witt manages things right, we still could be a tough out with the way Wall is playing

Loved his Flagrant foul....going all Brandon Meriweather out there
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

In Miller and Gooden, EG was clearly seeking to add veteran flamboyant hair presence.

Andre Miller is so no-nonsense, if you search for images of him using words like crazy, silly, stupid, etc there are no remarkable images coming up. No crazy hats, silly glasses, stupid pets, or even odd on court postures or gestures. In fact, it's hard to find images of him even smiling. I wonder if the other players try to make him laugh.

Not impossible, but the % seems really low versus Wall, Gortat, Nene, etc

PS: All these smiles seem kind of like "Seriously? WTF?" type smiles

What in the four paragraph article bothered you so much that you think the writer should be fired?

Jeez that's embarrassing. The article, I mean. :banghead:

The reason Miller worked out, after he was acquired in a Feb. 20 trade, and Eric Maynor didn't was because he's OK with limited minutes behind John Wall.

Maynor, who signed as a free agent last summer though he never was the Wizards' first choice, wasn't able to get into sync and quickly lost confidence.

I can't believe he's actually PAID to do this for a living!

Yep. The other reason Maynor didn't work out is that he can't do anything well on a basketball court.

I grew up worshiping local sports writers. Now I like Boz a lot and that's about it. The remainder seem to be mostly clowns and shills.

Mark Zuckerman from Nats Insider is really good too.

Right now Miller should be a Assistant Coach for the Wiz cause he will get roasted like Noah was on Offense if Temple was playing the 2 to cover up I'm ok. You gotta mix it up next season or else Wiz won't be winning games. Gotta have a top 2nd unit if the Wiz wanna be Elite status.

Professor showed up big again.

Love having this guy on the team.

Might not make the HOF, but a very under rated vet professional.

Heard the other day Professor says he wants to play until he is 40

He is 38 birthday in March

So he will be 39 this season and turn 40 the next one.

I have no problem with them offering him a smaller contract for 1 year after this one.

I like having the professor around. But we would clearly pick up a young back up for him to teach for a year. I thought this might be the year to do that but if he sticks around another year, he can do it then.

Hard to imagine he would want to change team again so late in his career.

But good to know he would be interested in returning.
