He called probably the time out of the game to pull Miller in the second half (no poor reflection on The Professor, who was one of the game's heros but was nearing the point of being gassed). Randy should feel good about the job he did both in the game and leading up to the game.
But he earns his pay from this moment forward. Thibbs is going to make adjustments. Can Randy prepare his team for them and can he have, in place, ways to counteract Bulls' changes?
It wasn't just that it was the right replacement at the right time. From where I was sitting, it looked like the Wizards were on the verge of putting up a bad shot or, more likely, turning it over. A friend watching with me said, "The coach just saved that possession." So many times in the past, he would have just let the team play its way into disaster.
