Of course, I'm supposed to be driving north Friday morning. Grrrrrrrrr.

Jay is a certifiable celebrity on Facebook, where his weather page has over 12K likes.

Capital Weather Gang from the Washington Post has 65K.

Pretty impressive Jay! Don't forget where you came from on your way to worldwide weather domination!

No wonder he seems to think he's too good for us - He IS too good for us.

Weather was my AFSC (air force specialty code/AF job). I have a niece who wants to be a meteorologist. I wanted to work with satellites but needs of the AF redirected my path from what I wanted to what they wanted me to do.

Me? I'm in Baltimore, heading to D.C. after having just flown in from Hawaii. Still need to pick up a wool cap and scarf as I JUST DID look at extended weather forecasts for the weekend. (I will need to keep heat from escaping my body if it's going down below 10F.) I'm not that into weather or else I would have known earlier. Go figure.

Ji has passion for this stuff.

Me, I only liked certain tasks associated with providing weather support services to military personnel. TBH it kinda bored me. :(
Bye bye Beal.

Yeah, pine, '"It's going down for real", as the song says. It's gonna snow on Thursday.

Family is at a hotel in Linthicum, MD, tonight. However, it's going to be better to be closer to NOVA by tomorrow afternoon.

CCJ, condolences on the passing of your father. Much respect for his service to country and for raising an outstanding son.

Bumping up this thread.

Hey, there's going to be a historic el nino. I hope that it means a snowy winter season. But heck if I know.

Ji, if you're around, please drop by and share your thoughts!

I thought a big El Nino means a warmer winter. Maybe more storms/precip overall but not necessarily snow. :dontknow:

This is why we need Ji!

I bought a two stage snow blower last September. I never got to use it. Wonder what Ji thinks about this year. Should I buy gas? Fairfax, VA

So apparently DC is suppose to get slammed with up to 25 inches of snow Friday - Sunday morning.

It's 0º C (32ºF?) here in London and I'm freaking freezing. I hate winter.

So the sky WILL be falling! Millie was wrong afterall.

The potential 25 inches combined with very heavy winds means almost sure power outages. I'll be shopping for battery-operated heaters tonight.

need to know if I should scream and run like a banshee like the last time the world ended.
I'm not anywhere near the east coast, but I need a good reason to let out my pent up frustrations caused by the Wizards.

I was planning to take my wife to her first every Wizards game against the Jazz on Saturday - and my first game in > 15 years. Been planning it for ~3 months. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....!!!!
