The Ji-bait Weather Discussion Thread

Post#1 » by pineappleheadindc » Mon Nov 24, 2014 4:55 pm

.

Ji...come back!

Looks like a decent (big) snowfall on Wednesday. If you're travelling, please keep your eye on weather reports.

AS of 11:45, NWS has DC area with roughly 40% chance of getting 4+ inches of snow. And a 25% chance of getting 8+ inches of snow.

Yikes!

Too hot for it to snow, I'm sure we'll mostly get rain.

Here is what my recon found from Ji's site dated yesterday.

"Late night euro model continues to show a strong storm heading up the east coast Wednesday. Other models slowly catching up but no other model shows the very robust European solution. This storm is looking more and more interesting especially on busiest travel day of the year. Stay tuned but it is certainly not a lock....yet"

I am so raiding the Safeway tonight to clean the shelves of all eggs, milk, bread, and toilet paper.

I expect a "historic" 1-2 inches of snow tomorrow morning at my house.

Ji, don't forget where you came from! I follow you on FB but it'd be nice if you came back and did your forecasting at some of the smaller [social media] venues from before you hit it big as a "public figure."

We only got 2 or 3 inches in Monkey County, but it's the slipperiest couple o inches I've ever seen. Whatever they did to treat the roads didn't work. Only by the grace of God did I get to work safely this morning.

Man, the entire DMV was caught with their pants-down with this snow/temps combo, it was much worse than anticipated.

I was just going to post this, from what I saw, it only seemed like we were going to get an inch. But I believe DC itself got 2-3, while others got up to 5 inches. So the snow total + the fact that it started right around the morning commute made it a mess. Hard to clean roads when hundreds of thousands of people are on it.

Worst morning commute ever. Normally takes me 15-20 minutes to get to work, took well over an hour.

Snow was awesome when you're a kid. Now as an adult it's kind of just a pain in the ass.

Genius move by the Fairfax County school system to open on time despite there being 1-2 inches on unplowed, untreated streets. Driving my son to school was harrowing this morning.

And later, on my drive to work, some dumbass lady drove out in front of me only to have her wheels start spinning in the intersection. I slammed on the brakes, managed to miss her, but hit the curb. Now my car won't steer right.

So, after watching me slide past her and into the curb with a loud CRUNCH, what do you think the lady did?

A) Got out of her car and walked over to see if I was okay.
B) Lowered her window to ask if I was okay.
C) Gestured through a closed window to see if I was okay and/or apologize for her idiotic driving.
D) Drove away.

The answer...

Spoiler:
D) Drove away.

Kevin....BOOOOO.

Montgomery County cancelled school today, so I'm home with my little girl. We just finished shoveling and are now enjoying some hot chocolate.
