Thanks to a reminder from long suffrin' boulez fan, wtching the OKC vs Golden State game.

The Warriors are such a joy to watch in terms of team basketball.

I need to clear my mind from the Wizards/Knicks horrible exhibition of basketball. The GSW vs Houston game just started. A team I like to watch vs one of the most hated teams in the NBA. Assuming the Warriors win, this will be a fun investment of the next 2.5 hours.

Through the first quarter --

Steph Curry: 7-8 fg; 5-6 3pts, 3 dimes, 1 turn, 19 points.

-----------

GSW dropped 42 points on Houston in the first quarter.

And Harden had zero points in the first quarter but still somehow outscored Curry for the game 37 to 35. Whatever Houston did to Curry after the first quarter worked, but GS still won.

Btw, it's sad to see how ineffective Lawson has become since that last DWI. Gotta wonder if he's got his alcohol problem under control. And Terrence Jones is out because of an automobile accident? He's running out of injury excuses. Last year it was some bizarre nerve injury. I'm losing interest in acquiring him, because he's just too injury-prone.

I only saw the last 16 minutes of the game or so, but it didn't really look like Houston found a way to stop Curry. Rather, Curry was perfectly content to be an epic-level diversion by setting screens, pulling defenders away, and otherwise opening the floor up for everyone else. It's fun watching him off the ball, the guy never stops working to set up his man (or someone elses').

Curry had a few shots rim out in the fourth, but he was still getting his looks when he wanted them.

Harden had a nice offensive night but from the part of the game I watched, it felt like Curry was playing the maestro and elevating his team, while Harden was trying to be a superhero iso-star. That may or may not be fair as observations go.

Yeah, Houston preferred giving shots to HarBarnes, and Barnes went off in the 4th quarter - after doing very little in the first 3 quarters. It's pick your poison against GS.

Great article on ESPN about how Curry fixed his ankle problems. One tidbit I didn't realize - he's only playing like 33 mpg. Harden is 2ppg behind him (29.9 to 27.9) but plays about 3.5 minutes more per game. Not to mention Harden also shoots twice as many free throws. Crazy.

So what you're saying is we're better than the Thunder?

Hopefully Durant sees the same thing! :D

Curry scores 51 points on 27 shots (only 1 FTA). It's just not fair.

Watching OKC GS right now. These teams are just on another level. Durant will never leave OKC ... Unless it's to go to the Warriors.
