Grats to the now 22nd ranked men Terps for beating Iowa. Despite Iowa coach Fran McCaffery's crying about the officials during the game, the officiating was ridiculously one-sided for Iowa until the last 2 minutes - when the officials finally called it fairly. Justin Jackson got hacked near the basket while trying to score about 6 times with no whistle in the first half. He still had a good game - filling up the box score. Anthony Cowan can get by anyone one on one, but he's got to stop trying to get through 3 players at once (8 turnovers). Terps got killed on the boards - giving up 20... offensive rebounds to a young and average sized front court. Dodd scored well, but he had 1 rebound and 5 fouls. Trimble was Trimble - coming through when the team needed him. Maryland again played very good perimeter defense.

The other Terps basketball team :) eeks out yet another Big Ten road win to go 19-2 as the 3 freshmen all shone brightly - particularly Justin Jackson putting up perhaps a star-making performance. The Terps centers were all bad highlighted by a putrid performance by Dodd - who seemed to be trying to keep Minnesota in the game. MD continues to have trouble getting calls from Big Ten officials until the last few minutes of the game. Until the last few minutes most games, Big Ten officials allow almost anything against MD that doesn't involve hacksaws and nunchucks.

Another Terps win! 85-78 over Minnesota to go to 19-2...with THREE FRESHMEN STARTERS!

http://www.testudotimes.com/maryland-terps-basketball/2017/1/28/14425662/minnesota-final-score-recap-results-game-stats-box

Three things to know
Justin Jackson carried the Terps. He hit threes when Maryland desperately needed him to, and added 10 rebounds. Jackson punished the Gophers for leaving him open, and still converted some tough layups. His 28 points are a career high, and it’s his first college double-double.
So did Kevin Huerter. He was equally as on from deep, and played solid defense. This was as consistently great as he’s played all season.
Melo Trimble played more of a distributor role. He had several slick passes off drives, and did what his teammates needed him to. Trimble still got points when he needed to, and was accurate while getting them.
Bye bye Beal.

Damonte Dodd has NBA athleticism. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets much better in the years to come. However, he fouls a lot and doesn't box out or rebound particularly well.

Justin Jackson, UMCP, is going to be in the NBA along with Justin Jackson, UNC Tar Heels.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Justin-Jackson-(Canada)-61944/

A player who has been on the radar since he was a 15-year old playing up at the U17 World Championship nearly four years ago, Justin Jackson was hampered by a nagging groin injury that relegated him to just 3 minutes in the game and made it difficult for him to show his best over the course of the week.

Jackson had some of the most impressive measurements seen from anyone at this event on either roster, standing 6'7 with an outrageous 7'3 wingspan, a 229 pound frame and gigantic hands. While not freakishly athletic, he's easily big enough to play power forward at pretty much any level, and may even be able to operate as somewhat of a small-ball 5 in the Draymond Green mold.

Jackson's perimeter shooting is one of the biggest keys to his ability to develop into a high-level NBA prospect.

Justin Jackson should go by Justin F. Jackson or whatever his middle name is to distinguish him from the Kansas Justin Jackson.

Dodd has hands of stone. Just don't see him as an NBA player. Lateral movement his limited, which is why he fouls guys left and right. If he's going to improve, it's going to be in the D-League or in Europe. Mayland has 3 mediocre centers and no true power forward (wait until Jackson faces Caleb Swanigan). But they do have 15 fouls from those centers. Jackson will probably be here just one more year. Huerter 3-4 if he adds significant weight. Cowan is a four-year guy due to his height though he's much faster than Melo and does have have NBA quicks.

As an alum and a huge fan it pains me to admit that I haven't watched much of this team this year. That being said: how the hell are they 20-2?!

I always figure that college ball is more guard play (which the terps have this year; and is why I didn't buy into last year's team at all), but is it more a product of the schedule/the conference being weak? Not trying to diminish their accomplishments at all, winning on the road in your conference is always tough. Just seems that they don't have a signature win quite yet.

Justin Jackson could be the real deal btw. What Robert Carter was supposed to be.

Big 10 basketball is.. not great.

20-2 record in those ACC days and we'd be ranked in the top 10 of the polls.
