Contractual status of our coach and gm?

Post#1 » by Dark Faze » Tue Mar 24, 2015 2:41 pm

So I've heard numbers thrown around, but for my own sanity I need to know the contractual status of these two lameduck losers.

I think Randy has one more year after this one and that Ted should technically be up for renewal this summer, but I could be completely wrong.

I just want to know if Ted is going to have to justify giving an extension this summer. I don't think he's quite THAT dumb. But I hope beyond hope both contracts are up this summer.

Randy is signed for two years after this season but only next season is guaranteed.

Ernie's contract status is not public information but per Erniefanboy aka Mike Wise, he quietly got reupped two years ago. I haven't heard anything indicating Ernie was in his final year so I'm assuming he's at least signed through next year as well.

I was under the impression both contracts ended this season. The lack of clarity is reason for concern. Ted is the least proactive owner Washington has ever had.

Actually per Erniefanboy aka Mike Wise, it's likely Ernie's deal was extended last offseason after the 2nd round success. It just wasn't made public. :nonono:

FWIW, I didn't think Ernie's extra year on contract was any big deal because I'm almost positive it will renegotiated this summer.

Mike Wise was the one who originally reported that EG had a year left on his 2012 extension that nobody knew about. That contract expires this year to my knowledge. I haven't heard anything else since Mike Wise originally reported that around last season. Randy got extended over the summer for 3 years. 2 years + a team option for the third.

Sadly yes.

Last year's postseason run is a further curse on this damn franchise.

I was watching NBATV last night before the game and Bob Meyers, the Warriors GM, was on "The Beat" and I was just admiring how the Warriors have a young GM who knows analytics, knows how to draft, and knew which coach to hire after seeing Mark Jackson max out.

I didn't even realize that Grunfeld had a contract with the team. Do clouds have a contract with the sky? Mountains with the Earth? They simply are, and always will be.
