I'm hoping that's just them protecting their bodies in the preseason.

I feel like we say this every preseason, and yet guys like Wall and Beal only go for a combined 7 FTA per game in the regular season. I haven't seen anything to suggest that changes. This is still a jump shooting team.

I can't argue with that.

I'm not so sure it's their unwillingness to play physical and draw contact. They're not soft players, per se. I think part of it is that they have never seemed to develop the skill for drawing fouls. Beal in particular is really bad about recognizing when his opponent is off balance and jumping into him.

Oubre playing some disruptive D out there. 2 steals, 2 boards and a block in 8 minutes.

Look at how Oubre attacks. That's the right way to freaking attack. It's not that difficult.

He probably should have gotten fouled there too.

Man, Oubre's on-the-ball defense is reminiscent of Kawhi Leonard. He just comes at you aggressively with those long arms and swallows you up. That kid is going to be a stopper one day.

I really wished Raps traded down for his pick. Can't believe ATL gave him up

That guy might have helped at power forward but I guess we're waiting for KDs stretch 4.

Not worried about tonight. I didn't see I it but if we got through preseason without a major injury and Beal and Wall were settling and not attacking, who cares. It's preseason and it's better that they take care of their bodies. I am a little worried about the bench without Anderson and Webster (retire already?). Now we're throwing in a fatter than normal Dudley at the 4, Blair is hurt and Nene is obviously hurting since he's not practicing. If he's legitimately out along with Blair, we only have Gooden behind Gortat and Hump.

So yeah, maybe drafting a young big man might have been a pretty good idea, KD be damned.

I think Portis is going to be a good player although it looks like he might have limited- the Bulls already have Mirotic, Gasol, Noah, and Gibson not to mention McDermott who could potentially play stretch 4.

Meanwhile Gortat in preseason went to .673 FG% ,.938 FT% on 3.5 attempts 7.4 rebounds and 17pts 1.5blks in 25.6 mins.

Can't wait to see what Otto-Beal-Gortat-Wall-Stretch4 will bring in regular season!
