Wall still launching jumpers and not attacking the basket to either drive or pass.

Good foul by Wall right there.

Dude, drive INTO Whiteside's body to draw fouls. Do not look for space, that makes it easier for him to block your shot.

That's a walk in a YMCA gym not to a Miami Heat player.

Can you elaborate?

I only caught a glimpse, but it looked like dancers/performers in fringy leather costumes wielding spears. I'm not sure if they were going for "Lion King" or "rain dance".

Gortat's finesse style feeds right into a shotblocker like Whiteside. He simply doesn't have it in him to dropstep and take it up strong.

I remember when wall would attack every play 100 miles an hour and run straight at defenders. He's passive now and settle way to much for jumpers.

Wall is the only player on the court capable of doing that -- and even he's not as good at it as the elite penetrator/finishers in the league. Sessions is good at drawing fouls on players his size; he doesn't get as many fouls vs bigs (at least, based on my eye test).

Of all the games for Wall to attack at 100 MPH, this is it. Everyone needs to beat Whiteside down the court. Attack before Miami is totally set up.

I would give him the benefit of the doubt playing on a bum ankle that probably limits whatever vertical he already has. He's also terrible with his back to the basket.

Nobody is really bashing him. There are nights he deserves it but not tonight. He probably shouldn't be playing.

Gortat's doing what he can out there, no question. But "matchups make fights", and Whiteside is simply a nightmare matchup for Gortat. He's bigger, stronger, longer, a better leaper, and just as fast. Gortat usually has enough time to get those little jumpers off; not tonight.

Green has always puzzled me. He's a good shooter, he's ridiculously athletic, and sometimes he hits crazy superstar-level shots (like that twisting fadeaway over Oubre). Why didn't he become a star? Bad defense? Bad shot selection? Not enough discipline?
