What about Mateusz Ponitka as the last guard behind Beal/Sato/Wall? He is playing for Nuggets in the Summer League, yesterday he notched 10 rebounds as a guard (5 offensive) and went 1-4 without any designed plays.
He was Polish league MVP and Eurocup Rising Star winner (last year it was Porzingis). In 10 Eurocup games he went for 12p/8r/2a/1s on 57.7% FG. In Poland he played for incredibly stacked Stelmet (Polish league winner) where in 23 minutes he averaged 10p/5r/2.7a/1.7s on 61.8%FG and 38% 3p FG. Last year he was a best scorer in Belgian Oostende before going undrafted and joining Stelmet.

Edit:
Oh, and he is an absolute defensive monster in Europe so I guess he could play really well in defensive scheme of Wizards second team. Sato/Ponitka vs Beal/Wall might be great!

I have a hard time getting over the way he runs the court - extremely short strides for a player so big. Very good rebounder, good defender, but seems very uncomfortable with the ball in his hands. I'm not a big fan, but if he's used in a way that hides his weaknesses and emphasizes his strengths - he just might make it.
Might just have to settle on Jaleel Roberts. The guy from Arizona doesn't seem to offer that much and Ochefu doesn't appear to have much upside.
So far of the signed players I think I like Danuel House the best. The player from Miami has very nice stats but I just got finished watching one of his better games on YouTube and I didn't like the body language I saw from him after certain plays.
I think McClellan is fine. He's basically an 11th man, assuming they sign Sato/Anderson/Courtney Lee or some other vet wing. But I do think we're on an island about House. His jump shot was off last season but he shot it much better as a junior (40%). Defense isn't bad so and he can slash well. I watched that Iowa State comeback game and a few other games where I saw a powerful athlete that could get to the rim and didn't mind contact. Didn't realize he struggled that much from the perimeter.

C'mon now... you have to give me a little more than that!
True - he does look like an interesting prospect. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Pascal-Siakam-87577/ Looking at the scouting video, he looks like someone who - if he can gain 15 pounds or more of muscle mass in the D League over the next couple of years could have a solid future in the NBA - though that's just based on looking at a 5 minute scouting video and looking at his stats. He could be helped by the fact that PF's are generally lighter than they used to be. He looks a lot like Cory Jefferson - formally of Baylor.

I love Virginia basketball. But Jack Salt is more like a poor man’s Michael Ruffin.

Re: Hidden Gems That Might Go Undrafted
Matisse Thybulle our of Washington is another guy I like. He's a 6-5 guard with a 7-0 wingspan who is currently re-writing the record books in steals and blocks.
No player in a major conference has ever averaged 2.5 steals and 1.25 blocks in a season. Thybulle has done it twice. This year, he is averaging an absurd 3.3 steals and 2.2 blocks. He's a senior so he may get overlooked in the draft. He's only a mediocre 3P shooter (.327 this year, .368 for his career) but he's an 86% FT shooter which suggests he can master the repeatable motion of a catch-and-shoot 3.
I think he could be a Danny Green type of player at the next level.
The list of major conference non-centers who averaged over 2 steals and 1 blocks is a pretty good list of defenders including: Shane Battier, Josh Howard, Andre Roberson, Delon Wright and Jae Crowder. There are hardly any duds on the list. Thybulle is blowing those numbers away.

Re: Hidden Gems That Might Go Undrafted
Yeah, I posted about him in the draft thread. There was a good article on him.

If a non-scorer like Roberson can make a role for himself in the NBA, Thybulle should have a shot. Old friend Garrett Temple couldn't shoot a lick in college but kept working at it and made it. Maybe all he needs to do is learn to make open corner 3's.
