Maryland got lucky to beat a bad South Florida team on Saturday by seven. C.J. Brown continues to show his inaccuracy and the secondary gives up way too much cushion. No pressure on the qb until the final drive. I'll stick with what I said earlier about the team. They are average at best. Good teams don't put the ball on the ground six times (four lost).

Losing to West Virginia wasn't a big surprise after last week's epic struggle. Today, NC State is destroying South Florida.

Looks like Edsall, Locksley and the rest are going to be on very hot seats this season.

They need to make a QB switch but Edsall is defending Brown.

He's played horribly this year as far as the passing game goes.

Maryland football: Randy Edsall says he would consider playing Caleb Rowe


Caleb Rowe could replace C.J. Brown at quarterback for Maryland in the future if Brown's passing problems continue, Randy Edsall said in a radio interview Thursday morning.

Jeff Ermann tracked down the comments from an Edsall appearance with the Sports Junkies.

Brown remains the starter heading into the Week 3 game at Syracuse.

"On a day-to-day basis, if we evaluate things from practice and then, even in the games, C.J.'s the guy that gives us that best opportunity to do all the things we need to do," Edsall said. "But I feel very comfortable and confident that if Caleb has to go in or we need him to go in, he'll be able to do the job."

On Wednesday, offensive coordinator Mike Locksley said Brown was having a "great week" in practice and remained the No. 1 quarterback. Brown will start for Maryland against the Orange.

"We obviously go into every game with our personnel meetings and we make decisions. Obviously, the head coach has the end decision on any personnel moves. We talk personnel every Thursday and actually now Wednesday evening as to who plays, when they play. Caleb Rowe is the number two quarterback right now," Locksley said.

Edsall said Maryland would be comfortable making a switch to Rowe if Brown doesn't succeed.

"If you get to a situation where you feel like you have to make a move like that," Edsall said, "you'll make it."

A two-touchdown win when MD was the road underdog is alright, any way you get it. This was a huge win for Coach Edsall coming off the loss to WVU.

Syracuse shredded the Terps on the ground. The Orange beat themselves with turnovers, counting the blocked punt.

Despite the 3-1 record, I don't think the Terps are all that good as long as CJ is at QB.
