I actually was thinking they should go ahead and lose .... I think I'm in the tank camp.

I feel you, I was expecting Tankscott to pull Mike James aside during stoppage to give him a piece of his mind.

But tanking aside, I'm glad they got another win at home. I'm sure the morale in the locker room and the rest of the stadium could use a little shot in the arm. And nothing is more annoying than all the NYK fans that show up, I'm glad they go home disappointed.

Don't worry fellas, I'm sure this west coast road trip will be ugly enough to appease all tankers.

"The game was going kind of bad for me in the first three quarters." Caron Butler.

That's like saying the Wizards are kind of a bad team. At least Jamison kept them in the game.

I dunno, I think they they won by accident. They just threw up some shots that happened to go in.

Paper tomorrow might say that Butler won that game scoring the last 6 garbage points but Mike James was the man down the stretch. I wouldn't mind having him be Gilbert's backup at all.

Yep. A blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. A broken clock is right twice a day.

Wizards pulled that out of their lower hindquarters.
Bye bye Beal.

I guess if they win once every 4 or so games, that's darned good tanking.

I really pull for the young guys to do well. I like to see McGee, Blatche, Young, McGuire, and Pecherov do well. I pull for Tapscott when he plays those guys.

OTOH when they play Songaila at C or when Tapcsott turns a blind eye to the shot jacking and no defense of Butler and Jamison, then I don't pull hard for them.

In the big picture with the playoffs virtually impossible, I think having a sucky record is best.

NBTW, I see your point about it being good they won at home and to send the NYK fans home disappointed. I don't want out and out tanking.
Bye bye Beal.

Damn. I completely missed the game.

Nice stat line for Blatche though: 13 pts, 11 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals and a block in 26 minutes.

Young had a monster night on the glass, pulling down 3 whole rebounds. That's the most we've seen from him in a while. :D

Damn! I had totally switched to the tank mind-set and we win. The Knicks were horrible tonight, a fluke win for sure.

ETapp can actually play a few of these teams straight up and nevermind the late-game Tank substitutions. Unless Blatche is injured this was a pretty blatant tankage. HIs double double at the half was offsetting David Lee's rebounding tasmanian devil act. And offensively he looked good, moved the ball... But of course the players can never get the 'tank' memo, sometimes they'll wina game even when you stack the deck against them.

Me, too.

This is honestly the very first time I got disappointed when the Wizards came back in a game.

I do think it was a fluke.

Based on the last 4 minutes, clearly, James and Butler didn't get the memo, doc.

BTW. I Know it will irritate the low-mins-for-veterans crowd but I loved seeing Jamison out there with armored sleeves. The guy gives you a billion percent of whatever skills he has, even if he lets David Lee stampede on his carcass for 20 boards.

Oh, we got lucky because we killed them in 3/4 quarters? Including the crucial last 3 minutes. Other than the first 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter in which we were outscored by 9, we played better than them the entire game.

Nate...Nick's block and shot was pretty much the nail in the coffin for the Knicks. That block was the turningpoint....

It's amazing DSong lasted that long in the second half, but I guess he was the only guy that could play that pick-and-roll. I think if teams watched the way he has played for the most part this season (not tonight), he can maybe help a contender with his defense, passing and solid overall play. That's the only reason I can think that he gets so many damn minutes in favor of Pech and Javale.

Nick was awesome down the stretch. I'm really starting to believe in him. His coast to coast drive was perfection and the block on one end + the contested jumper that he nailed on the other was the dagger. Did Buckhantz give that a dagger? I was at the game. Glad we finally got a win.

P.S. I saw Wolf Blitzer in the bathroom and said "Hey Wolf Blitzer, you da man." He said, "Hey, thanks."

Buckhantz gave Butler the dagger on his 3 to seal the deal. Kind of irritated me that Caron got a lot of the credit for locking up the win when it was really Nick and James that did it.

No way we win that game w/out Twan. I saw him heading to the locker room early. He's gotta be real banged up. Caron, as much as I love him, was AWFUL until the last few minutes of the game.
