OT-Our snowless Winter

Post#1 » by Ji » Thu Feb 19, 2009 5:07 pm

Anyone perplexed at how we got zero snow this winter. We had pretty cold winter..our coldest in a few years but we could never get a big storm to occur. Just really frustrating. There were plenty of model threats but they would fall apart as we got closer.

worst winter ever

Unfortunate for you...I actually was pretty happy not to have any snow this year. It was cold as all hell out there but no snow. Some people in this area just don't know how to drive with snow or any type of precipatition on the road.

Hard to believe, but in the mountains (some call them large hills) a few miles away from San Diego, we actually got snow. It snowed there about 2 weeks ago, and its still up there.

Check out what they did in China yesterday... they had no precipitation in 100 days and folks there were complaining that it also hadnt snowed in the Forbidden City in many years, a once common occurrence. So they seeded some clouds, and they got a ton of snow.

Me thinks the weather is changing.

Yeah definite good amount of snow in NYC this year........about 45 degrees right now and I'm hot as hell.

Was a semi-rough winter up here.

Global warming my azz. We've had the coldest winter in 30 years here in Columbus, Ohio. It got down to -14 degrees back in January. That's not wind chill, that's actual temperature.

We had snow on the ground for 45 straight days. It just never got warm enough to melt.

I'd rather know how two giant mountains formed right near Denver and Albuquerque.

DC's had like the coldest winters in years hasn't it? Or did I hear that wrong?

Anyway, bring on Spring. I'm tired of these 39 degree days. Bring on Spring, bring on more light during the day so I can go back and hit the gym.

it had one of the coldest winter in years but one of the driest. Not once could we mix the cold with the precip.

The pattern was cold and dry..and then it would warm up for a rainstorm, get cold again after the storm...and dry...rinse and repeat

2 fooking inches of snow this year

Raise your hand if you knew there was a major snow storm coming through our area? I just read about this at Capital Weather. 4 to 8 inches of snow between today and 2 PM Monday. And those totals could be on the low end.

Should I be expecting no school tomorrow?

(keep in mind that colleges don't close easily)

[quote="miller31time"]Should I be expecting no school tomorrow?

We are talking about the weather men, the chances of them being correct are like Arvis Hayes hitting that jumper to win the game.

I don't think the weather people do a good of predicting the solar wind. That's where the weather comes from.
