Chocolate City Jordanaire wrote:"If you're not a great defensive team how much does that gambling defense do for you?" is what the Bucks announcers have asked in regards to the Wizards attempting to trap high and in the middle of the court.

What is stupid, is to start trapping with a guy like Songaila at center. It's absolutely (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to start trapping without someone capable of protecting the rim if/when they break the trap.

Sig + post = does not compute. McGee is a liability out there. I have no problem giving him minutes if it means tanking, it's just not normally Taps M.O. to give McGee double the minutes of DS. Probably just foul trouble.

I like showcasing the young guns, look how DMAC has turned out. MeGee is developing nicely, the kid can run with the best of them. Did you see his fast break points against other centers?

How much playing time are the young guys getting next year? Play them, start them, trade them if needed. I say let them learn on the job trainging.

I'd trade DSONG just to get McGee in the game more, dont get me wrong, he's a smart center but he's too small for the 5spot.

My sig, I'm a Raider. (Silver & Black)

I'm not going to argue your other points, because frankly, I agree. McGee isn't ready to make the jump Dmac has, but that's perfectly fine. That said, Darius isn't a 5. When he's playing PF he's excellent.

Guys, I'm having trouble figuring something out. Yesterday we ran a lot of doubles to trap a rookie point guard at half court and tonight we're running a lot of traps against a guy who's just about a rookie point guard and the results aren't as awesome tonight. I mean NBA teams don't handle traps very well in general do they? How is that any different than how we help off of perimeter players all the time and that's a maneuver that's served us well for years. My instincts are telling me that we need to keep going under screens too, but other than that the only thing I can think of is more traps.

Edit: This is really bugging me, help!

Mcgee, Blatche, and Young would all be benched if they let Bah a Moute blow past them for a dunk. Wonder what Taps will do with Jamison.

DMac with 0 rebounds so far. Interestingly, the man he's covering, Jefferson, also has zero rebounds. I guess the ball just isn't bouncing in their direction.

Caron has got to lead the league in quarter ending missed shots. Awful.

McGee is no more of a liability than any of our other bigmen.

+1

I will say the Wizards are consistent in getting burned from outside.
Bye bye Beal.

Bucks are now 10-15 from 3-point range. Nearly all of them have been wide open shots.

That's flat out not true, but whatever makes you feel better.

I wonder how Caron will find a way to blame this game on the young guys. Caron doesn't look like he even got off the plane.

McGee seems to have IT I'm not sure what IT is, but he has IT

Plus he's exciting to watch.

Please tell me you're not actually going to contend that Darius and AB are more of a liability than McGee is overall. I've seen virtually every game this season, and while I love McGee's potential (something I've posted up and down these forums) and recognize that he's incredibly exciting to watch, he literally brings nothing to the table except 2-3 flashy dunks and a block per game. Defensively, he's awful, and he cannot box out to save his life.

Does that mean I want to see Songaila get consistent minutes over him? Not really, this season is long lost. That said, you cannot make a convincing argument that any of our big men except Pech are more of a liability than McGee is.

Of all people Caron forgot for a second there that we're not passing to Andray tonight. Geeze, the one guy who wouldn't pass it to Blatche if it was pepper and he forgets on the one night that we all agree we were going to let Juan Dixon dribble until the ball explodes and they have to cancel the game. This is the kind of execution that leads to twenty win seasons guys.

I watched all of the summer games, I'm treating the season like it's summer league. Who can grow, who's going to contribute to 2009/10.

My glass is half full.

I agree completely. You can certainly argue that McGee should get more minutes for developmental purposes; but don't make the mistake of thinking we're a better team with McGee on the floor. He makes way too many mistakes on defensive rotations. He's a project. He needs time.

I can't believe I wasted 2 hours of my life watching this. The Wizards NEVER made a move. They just couldn't cut the lead below 9.
