Hmmn, ok. It's in your PM inbox now. This is the heart of it, there are various subplots spinning off of it. Ensemble cast makes that part fun.

See, this is why computers can't replace people. My company's junk filter flagged it as junk. And having skimmed it -- definitely not junk. :)

Well sure it's junk, but sometimes junk can be good. Glad you like. You know me, team player, I'm always open to collaboration if you want brainstorm/co-write/format the mess/etc. This one I have no strong attachment to, so it's a good one to workshop.

My entire life I've been fascinated by the Salinger story. I think most artists (or pseudo-artists) always have been. A guy considered the greatest writer of his generation, and recognized in his own time, tells society and Manhattan publishing to go to hell and locks himself in a cabin for four decades. Meanwhile, serial killers and lunatics rally around his greatest work as a symbol for their ostracization from society. What the hell was he doing in that cabin for forty years? Salinger the new doc reveals the answer. And WOW, what an ending...

Bump for the movie digression in the Oubre thread. Interesting conversation, edit and splice?

Latest movie I've seen that does NOT involve going with my 8-year-old daughter.

Ex Machina. You must see it.

(I think gotta get it On Demand or via iTunes).

Ex Machina is the movie of the year.

Best things in my Netflix:

Bill Burr: I'm sorry you feel that way. His description of letting go of religion like a curler releasing a stone is brilliant.

Sightseers. Great dark, British comedy about a couple on vacation (one is a serial killer).

Black Mirror. Modern, British version of Twilight Zone.

Mr. Nobody. Finally saw after many recommendations.

The Honorable Woman *****

Mud ****

I liked that a lot, and that's a good description. It's only like eight episodes, so not too great of a commitment, and pretty even quality from episode to episode.

I started watching Ex Machina on a flight. It started out interesting, but once it became obvious to me what was going to happen I started to lose interest and turned it off. Maybe I'll watch the end sometime.

I just saw Snowpiercer last night. Not she at all if I liked or disliked it! :noway:

I can see why it kind of picked up buzz but the 95% on RT? Seems like a bit much

I've had that in my favorites menu on Netflix for quite some time because I've heard good reviews, but I haven't actually taken the time to watch it. Is it really good?

I'm a little embarrassed to say this because it's so girly, but the wife and I have started watching Gilmore Girls and it's really a delightful show. It's very funny, and, having a teenaged daughter of my own, it strikes home quite often.

House of Cards is fantastic, but that's not really news to anybody.

Yeah, Nate, Black Mirror is extremely well-written. The first is mostly just a shock piece (which it does well). The next three, if memory serves in terms of the order, are perfectly executed, instant classics. Hope they make more.

You think that's girly, my wife snared me into watching Project Runway, and I got addicted and watched three full seasons until I tired of the bitchy back biting and recurring cliches. I still really enjoyed the close up look at how fashions are designed and produced.

See Lost Soul on Netflix. It is about the making of the awful movie "The Island of Dr. Moreau." Stay with it, it gets insane by the end. The part that had me dying was Brando, recognizing the film was out of control and none of the scripts made any sense, just started making up insane things to do and say. Like, "I think we should shutdown production for two weeks and rewrite the script because I have an idea about my character wearing a hat the entire movie, and at the end I take the hat off and reveal I'm actually a dolphin." He says as millions burn with each tick of the clock. Almost as good as Troll 2 or the making of Troll 2 (the worst film ever made).

I've never seen Gilmore Girls, but on its own merits as entertainment, it's supposed to have been a classic....cult following.

.

Is it wrong that I actually LIKE the various Mission Impossible movies with Tom Cruise in the lead?

I just saw the latest sequel and I liked it.
