Tommy Sheppard

Post#1 » by fishercob » Thu May 14, 2009 2:59 pm

I just stumbled accross this Ian Thomsen piece from two years ago about Tommy Sheppard, Ernie's top lieutenant. Really interesting stuff. Enjoy:

The tought occurred to me too, but this was hoping for more of a discussion of Tommy than the article. We don't get much insight in these parts on he or Milt Newton.

I can confirm from first-hand experience dealing with Tommy that every word in that article is true. Great guy.

^ Yeah, I was just teasin'. At this point I'm cool with anything other than lottery talk. Maybe we can somehow make this a "Get to know the Wiz front office" type of thing. Anybody know any other names of Ernie's staff?

I'm guessing that's between Ernie and Mrs. Grunfeld.

Most folks here know about Milt, of course. I actually met Milt in the tunnel one day, but didn't know who he was. So we're standing there chatting about hoops stuff and end up getting into an argument about something arcane. I don't even remember what it was about -- probably something stat related since Milt has more than a passing interest in basketball sabermetrics.

We finished our "conversation" and Scott Jackson comes over and asks me what I was arguing about with Milt. I'm saying, "That was Milt Newton?!"
