How many games did you watch?
Since the start of the 2004-2005 season (the EG era), the Washington Wizards have played in 430 regular season or playoff games. I've been a long-time reader of this board, and I've often wondered from some people's comments how many games they've actually watched.
Some of you appear to be glued to the TV set once or twice per week and occasionally will purchase a couple tickets. Some of you have season tickets and TiVo the games religiously so you can watch them on TV after seeing the game live. A few of you seem to go only by box score, measurements, and what other people say.
So be honest - how many games did you actually watch in the past four seasons? Assume that watching at least half a game counts.

Let's see if I can start a thread that doesn't get locked or merged. I promise that if I ever start another thread, I won't use a poll! I couldn't put 100% (too many poll options), and you'd be lying if
you chose that, anyway.
EDIT: Ok, I swapped 0% for 100%; if you watched 0%, you probably won't be on this board, anyway.

emboldened by your recent success in parodying wizd that you feel like you can up and clutter up our board?
* i honestly think i've watched about a quarter of the games and rationalized rounded up to 30% because i watched a few non-wizards games along the way - mostly Lakers and Rockets matches.

Re: How many games did you watch?
I think I watch about 80%+ of the games. I go to 5-10 games a year and usually go to sleep before the west coast games. But yeah, I watch way too much Wizards basketball.

Re: How many games did you watch?
Since 04-05 is actually 5 seasons. That's my entire history as a Wizards fan (started to get intrigued watching at the end of 03-04 when Arenas came back from injury).
I've had 20 game plans the last 3 seasons, have gone to all the home playoff games, and I've typically bought a few extra games. 04-05 I went to about 5 regular season games plus the home playoff games. 05-06 I went to about 10 regular season plus the home playoff games. So that's a pretty good chunk of live watching. Probably at least 18-19% of games across those seasons.
Add in tv, and I have probably watched enough to get me to 50% overall for the 5 seasons if you count half a game watched as a game. Maybe less in 04-05 and certainly less this past season.
Plus, I often do grocery shopping and other errands in the evening, and will have the game on the car radio. Probably my best memory of this past season is sitting in the car at the Giant listening to the last 6-7 minutes of the Indiana game in February when Butler led a big comeback and won it at the buzzer. If that's not an indicator of how lousy the season was, I don't know what is.

Woops - thanks, Big A. I never did excel at math. I corrected the original post.
Personally, I've watched close to 20% of the games. I've been to a few back in the Webber/Howard era, but none recently.

Re: How many games did you watch?
I probably watched less than a third of the games this season. Eddie Tapscott really just killed my spirit & desire to watch Wizards games with his refusal to play any of the young guys except McGuire. It was just awful basketball to watch.
Prior to this season I watched over 90% of the games. One year (I think it was the '06-'07 season. I watched 81 out of 82 games and the only reason I missed that one game was because it wasn't on local TV.

I've watched more than enough games over the last four seasons to know that this team will not seriously compete until there is a change at the PF posistion.

Re: How many games did you watch?
In terms of beginning-to-end, I do maybe 25%. On weekdays I'm often not settled back in until around 7:30 or so, which means I miss at least a chunk of many first quarters. And I do not feel any shame ducking out early when the team is playing ugly ball in an inevitable blowout.
Using the half a game cutoff, that number probably jumps up to around 80%. Basically, if a game is on and I'm available to tune in, I do. Most years it's actually closer to 90%, but this past season definitely dragged it down some.
I go to almost no games. Maybe one every two or three years. Considering the cost in terms of time, money, and convenience, I just don't think it's worth it. But then again, I'm the type who would much rather throw in a DVD and watch a movie from my own couch than head out to the theater, so that's probably just my style.

Re: How many games did you watch?
Let's see.
Pre 2003= maybe 50%
2004-2005 = 0 Studying abroad in australia the entire season.
2005-2006= maybe 15%, busy with my last year at school
2006-Now= 3 & 1/3 games. Been living in Japan. Went home for two weeks 2 seasons ago so saw 3 games. Last season, one game was televised, but I didn't realize until the start of the second half. After watching one quarter, the game was so bad I had to turn it off.
That puts me at what, a cumulative 3% or so. Nice.

I've been a season ticket holder since 2004 and go to probably 65% of the home games. So, basically I'm roughly on par with AB and N1's attendance rate.

Re: How many games did you watch?
I watched a good 90% or more from the 96-97 season through about 06-07... Having nothing to do in high school but play and watch basketball + free cable in college = me watching years of futility and REALLY appreciating their rise and falling in love with Gilbert. I watched about 80% of 07-08 and was insanely proud of our guys. I'm a highly emotional fan even hundreds of miles away, and I probably watched 20-25 games last year total. I haven't bought cable for my new apartment and have enjoyed the savings, and last year's experience was more frustrating than anything I've ever experienced as a fan. I'm completely geeked about next year though, I'd imagine I'll be hard pressed to miss a game.

Re: How many games did you watch?
btw, some guy on the player comparison board is claiming to average 300 games/year for the past 20 years.

Re: How many games did you watch?
For me, about 40%. This season really killed my average. I probably saw 10 games max this season. The previous years, I made a pretty good effort to catch them on the internet or on cable. I'd say previous years were at about a 50% clip. For the games I couldnt watch, I'd check it out on Sports Center.

I've seen every game. I don't have much of a life.
