Bummer. Freak accident HOF?

I drive over one of those spike strips every day after dropping one of my kids off at his school.

I guess this answers my other son's question of what would happen if someone accidentally fell on top of one of those spikes. They'd get punctured like Blake's foot. :(
Bye bye Beal.

A bit of a rumor going around that Gilbert might sign with one of the LA teams. If he signs with the Lakers and they win the championship that means Caron, Antawn, Deshawn, Gilbert, and Haywood all will have a championship ring.

I bet it will be the Lakers. Steve Blake's down for a while with a punctured foot.
Bye bye Beal.

GOG, I've thought for a while China is a great option for Gil at this point. He can't really go wrong signing in China, doing well, and coming back to a playoff team in April.
Bye bye Beal.

Switching from the Wizards to a team filled with veterans, shooters, and shot creators allows him to just find his spots and wait until LeBJ, Wade, Bosh, or some other target draws defenses from him, and they also have some good passers to find him. It doesn't hurt that they're champions with a good shot to repeat, and expect him to perform professionally. Not a surprise that he might show better.

Even when left wide-open Shard was a lock to miss just about every open shot when he was with us. But-yeah, what you wrote is probably true also.

I remember him dribbling off hid foot out of bounds, passing off people's heads, no look passes to surprised people in row three, etc. That dude was in a funk of major proportions last year. Maybe he was adjusting to being off steroids.

Looks like Koufos will get the starting job over McGee:

Vs Clippers tonight, #Nuggets starting Ty, Iguodala, Gallo, Faried and Koufos. GK said Koufy will likely be Denver's starter this yr

Denver is paying McGee $11M a year to be a backup. This is why the trade made sense. McGee is too inconsistent to be a reliable starter, but he has too much talent to be paid like a backup.

That won't last more than a season. If/when the Nuggets falter in the playoffs, I think it is inevitable that they'll find another team who thinks McGee is an answer for them at C because of his athleticism.
Bye bye Beal.

Koufos has been in the league since 2008 and started a total of 6 games yet he is going to beat McGee out of the starting spot?

If anyone actually thinks Koufos is actually going to play more minutes than Javale then your kidding yourselves. My guess is Karl probably thinks Javale plays better coming off the bench (I do too). I fully expect Javale to get the bulk of time at center.

Last season Timofey Mozgov started 35 games for the Nuggets, yet only averaged 15.6 MPG. I think Koufos will likely play a similar role this season.

Grantland went in on Swaggy P.

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-trian ... to-kill-me

On November 4, in New York, the Sixers lost to the Knicks, 100-84. Nick Young played 32 minutes, scored five points on 2-10 shooting, and had a plus/minus of -29. Minus. Twenty-nine. That’s when it hit me: This is happening. Nick Young isn’t on Twitter or in photos or video lowlights. He’s on the Sixers. He’s a Sixer. He is part of my life now, and like a ghost that haunts your apartment, you need to make peace with these things. So, I decided to live-blog the Sixers game against New Orleans last night. I fully anticipate this to read like a Sullivan Ballou letter from Ken Burns’s The Civil War. Spoiler: That guy dies. Cue up “Ashokan Farewell.” Let’s go.

I enjoyed reading the comments from beleaguered Wizards fans (is there any other kind?), expressing their schadenfreude that Nick Young is now Somebody Else's Problem.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.
