Blast from the past...

Portland Trail Blazers assistant David Vanterpool interviewed for the Denver Nuggets’ head coaching job, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

<snip>

While Vanterpool isn’t considered a frontrunner to replace Brian Shaw, Denver general manager Tim Connelly’s discussion with Vanterpool in recent days is reflective of the respect Vanterpool’s earned in three seasons as an NBA assistant coach.

Which former Wizard is closing-in on a 3-year contract?
Spoiler:
Euroleague star Nemanja Bjelica is in serious discussions with the Minnesota Timberwolves on an approximate three-year, $12 million-plus deal, but the two sides have been exploring all options, league sources told RealGM.

Bjelica, 27, has moved toward breaking into the NBA after being named the Euroleague MVP this past season. At 6-foot-10, Bjelica is a skilled forward who could play three positions at the NBA level.

Nevertheless, the Timberwolves likely need to make further moves to incorporate Bjelica and allow him to transition with confidence in his role. Around the league, there’s active trade interest in the Serbian forward, sources said.

A finalized deal with Bjelica and the Timberwolves could happen as soon as next week.

Bjelica averaged 11.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists for Fenerbahçe Ülker, shooting 54 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three-point range.

We should change the name of this thread to "Tracking the Golden State Warriors" or "Tracking the Guangdong Dragons"

Kinda interesting how Berman never addressed the quality of Seraphin's play.

That article made me throw up in my mouth. He played behind Gortat, Nene, Hump, and Gooden, because... he was worse than them.

It's so unfair!!!

Didn't see it but Jan put up 18/9 on Nets not bad. Looks like different player when he was on team.

He added a nice short floater to his arsenal, which he used a lot in eurobasket this summer, plus few mid range jumpers.

Vesely appears to be playing center. He has definitely filled out quite a bit. I argued throughout the Vesely era that he lacked the skills to be either a SF or PF, but if he ever could put on the necessary bulk to play center, he might have a future. He never embraced that role here.

I wonder how strict they are overseas with steroids. Maybe Vesely took some.
