I suppose that's technically true.

LOL,when he was with the Raptors, he show glimpses of being a player that dominates, at the expense of his teammates. Good thing Raptors let him walk, best decision they ever made. He could've been a decent back up if he didn't let his ego get the best of him.

Mike James was paid about $9 million by the Wizards.

His total production:

519 pts/198 assists/129 rebounds/45 steals. His PER was 9.9(last season) and 5.7(this season). His shooting percentage was 0.383(which would be great if he played for the Nationals).

How might Steve Nash feel about facing Mike James?

Well, they've played in the same game 21 times. Nash's team won 13 of those, and Nash outperformed James on a per minute basis 18 times. But, it doesn't feel fair to compare the totality of those games since James was in a reserve role most of the time. So, let's look just at the 9 games James started.

And, James did have a "monster" game against Nash. On 3/31/06, he went for 36 pts and 10 assists (on 11-25 shooting) in 44 minutes. Nash countered with 20 pts and 10 ast on 7-12 shooting in 34 minutes. James's per minute PER was .001 "better" than Nash's -- James's only individual matchup "win" of the 9 games. Oh yeah, Nash's Suns beat James's Raptors.

The per 40 minute stats:

Code: Select all

Stat    Nash    James
MPG     34.7    32.1
Pts40   20.6    16.6
Reb40   3.7     3.2
Ast40   13.1    5.3
Stl40   0.6     0.6
Blk40   0.1     0.1
Tov40   4.1     2.8
efg     .623    .476
TS%     .651    .523
Usg     24.3    20.4
PER     19.3    9.9
Tm Wins 7       2

I dunno, but I suspect Nash would feel pretty good about matching up with Mike James.

"I want to get thrown in the fire, please," he said. "Give me only three plays and if I don't do anything from there, if that's my only chance, I'll take that. Let me run with that right there."

 Seriously dude STFU, everybody knows you're available, stop fricken begging.

I'm sure several of Mike's former coaches wished they could have thrown him in the fire.

Since there best option seems to be Mike James, I bet the Heat wish they had just kept Chris Quinn.
