If the 76ers select Jabari a Parker over Joel Embiid, then add insult to injury and throw the 10th pick away on Dario Saric , I'll get sick to my stomach.
Fischella wrote:I think none of you guys that are pro-Embiid no how basketball works today.. is way easier to win it all with Omer Asik than Olajuwon.
Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

You've had Embiid #2 for a little while even after the back injury. Why did u drop him to #4 on your board? Just curious.

no worries. only reason i caught it is that i've been particularly interested to see where people rank him now that he's in.

we have hood and mcdaniels pretty much switched. i guess im higher on mcdaniels than most people. otherwise looks pretty reasonable.

I agree Payne won't be there anymore when we get to pick at #21 and in that scenario we could take a PG although I'm not as high on Napier as most. I could easily imagine us trading down a few spots as there should be several good PGs left later in the 1st round. However, at #29 I like Patric Young... a classic Presti pick. And a perfect fit on our team. Still won't make up for his passing on Noah in favor of Green, but there's some symmetry.

SEC defensive player of the year. All SEC 2nd team. Plus length. Double plus athleticism. Huge motor. Has benefitted tremendously from Coach Donovan... has learned how to learn. High character. Plus bball IQ. Plays inside his talent. Plays above the rim. Few offensive skills, but does have a nice jump hook... with either hand. Does the dirty work needed to win games. Arguably the best player on a team that was among the best in America. This kid is going to have a ten year NBA career. Hell ya he's worth a #29 pick.

We are talking about a guy who underachieved for 3 years and had a decent senior year while surrounded by a ton of guys who took pressure off of him. I don't totally dislike Young, but if you want him, pick him at 40. He has little to no offensive game aside from bully ball, which won't translate. He is a solid defender who plays hard, but may not be big enough to be a center or fast enough to be a PF.

At 40, he is intriguing. At 29 he is a terrible Miles Plumlee level reach.

Uhh, Miles Plumlee is a starting NBA center who is league average going by PER and Win Shares, that's really good for a late first round pick.

It's true Patric had some growing up to do. But he did. Any one who follows the Florida program will tell you that. All SEC scholar athlete. Member of SI's all glue team. Team leader. No one has a bad word to say about the young man. For me, a kid who's battled adversity to come out of it as a solid young man has demonstrated a lot. Also, Patric is among the very best athletes in this draft... he's plenty fast, strong and long to play PF in the NBA. You haven't listed him at all in your mock. First or second round. That's surprising. You should take another look at Patric. He's an NBA player for sure. And he would fit perfectly on the notSonics.

I think he will get picked somewhere in the 2nd round. very low likelihood to be an effective contributor in the NBA IMO, but you never know. I would be really surprised if he gets picked in the first round.
