That is the whole problem with going to Kentucky. You essentially cant go back to be a soph because the next class is already coming in. There simply isnt enough scholarships/mins for players. This system isnt serving Calipari, UK or the players. How long will it take for each to figure that out?

It is clearly serving Cal and Kentucky. They have won one title already and have a chance at a second in 5 years. It hurts the players for sure.

With his recruits I think its safe to say that he has underachieved. His success at Kentucky isnt any better than at Memphis and he is getting much more talent at UK. The simple fact is that if he brought in 3 lottery picks a yr instead of 5 his teams would be better. More importantly with this 1 and done program once Calipari leaves the team will have a huge rebuild. The cupboard is bare and it would take multiple seasons to rebuild.

Calipari has coached more lottery picks than Izzo and Pitino combined yet has fewer Final 4s than either.

So you think Coach Cal should specifically recruit worse players than he already does with the hopes that they will stay longer? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You recruit the best players, and if the leave after one year, you readjust. I think this year was a bit of an outlier, and you won't see 7 McDonalds All Americans going to Kentucky every year. Eventually it will get back to the happy medium of one or two one and dones and the rest guys who stick around.

I seem to be higher on him than most. And a little lower on Parker than most. I would take Randle over Parker for the Magic and I am a Magic fan. Parker is too similar to what Tobias Harris already brings IMO.

I'm a Magic fan too, and from what i glean from the boards most wouldn't select him that high either and i believe most of them Like Randle. Just not better than Parker, Embiid, Exum and Wiggins it seems

In the end, I'm not convinced yet we'll end up with Dallas' pick. And I'm not sure we want it this year. Maybe waiting until 2018 would be better.

Anyway, I really like Deonte Burton at #29. And that Semaj Christon and Vasilije Micic would also be available. I would be very interested in those three as a Jackson insurance policy.

Why Andrew over Aaron Harrison? I think Aaron is the better NBA prospect of the two.

Andrew has elite size for his position, where as there is not much that separates Aaron from other SGs out there. Also, Andrew just seems to be the more complete, better player at this stage.

I do think Andrew probably is a bigger bust risk than Aaron, who at worst can be a shooter off the bench.

We've already got a pretty good SF as well as depth at SF... at #21 we will take Payne if he's still there. Collison isn't getting any younger. And it's either Burton or Christon at #29 over the Harrison twin as insurance against not resigning Jackson.

Chicago picks 16 and 19. Raptors get 20th pick.

Would definitely be on board with the LaVine pick, tons of upside.

Utah won't draft Randle. We already have a taller, more skilled version of him (Kanter). In this scenario I think we'd definitely go with Smart. I think that KJ McDaniels will also be on our radar for that second pick, although I don't mind taking a flier on McDermott.
