I really have problems with raw forwards that can't shoot the ball, like Gordon or Grant, or even handle to play in the perimeter that high.

At least Grant is a great athlete that has good knowledge of the game, Gordon is coachable but he is still really raw and is really slow even if he's explosive, he moves really bad, terrible footwork.

Specially going ahead of LaVine, Young, Harris, o Vonleh.

Do'nt really understad the love for Tyler Ennis unless you are just riding the same car as other guys to add a new name.

Pretty sure that a lot of those guys (in my mind Vonleh, Ennis, Hezonja, Selden, Dekker, Walker, Sulaimon) won't declare.

Thanks for responding. I don't get many responses here and I'm always happy to discuss reasoning.

Regarding your last point, rather than try and speculate something that each year tends to have surprises, my mocks assume that people are declaring unless explicitly stated otherwise.

I personally don't like Gordon. I hope that the Sixers don't draft him, because I personally don't believe he will be overly impactful in the NBA. But the fact is that he has a excellent athleticism, decent measurables, high iq, shows leadership traits, good head on shoulders, good intangibles, work ethic, etc. Having a knack for footwork is a natural talent, but it's something that can definitely be improved.

He checks a lot of boxes that GMs look for. For these reasons, I don't think he will be passed up.

I actually would like to hear more about your attraction to Vonleh. Good length and strength, but small hands, no particular offensive skill. Could have decent defensive potential. I previously compared him to a Jared Jeffries type player which is inaccurate, as I think it's more Ekpe Udoh.

One of the more logical mocks I've seen lately. Especially the top seven (7). I think Vonleh gets picked before Randle, when all the smoke clears, though. Wiggins to the 76ers and Parker to the Celtics would make for a nice rivalry for the next decade.
Fischella wrote:I think none of you guys that are pro-Embiid no how basketball works today.. is way easier to win it all with Omer Asik than Olajuwon.
Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Thanks Lloyd. I agree - it would be nice to re-ignite some of the classic Atlantic division rivalries.

After I made that mock, Lakers and Cavs lost again. Utah seems to be rising out of the bottom of the barrell recently and unless they have some lottery luck seem to be out of Parker's range now. The Mormon connection would have been nice there, but I can't see Parker sliding past five at the absolute worst.

Does this take team needs into account because the hawks need a wing way more than another big

Seems I'm alone in the notion that Exum will not get picked before Wiggins. Just can't see any good reasons for teams to do this. Then again, I'm just a fan.

It does take need into account. It's a lot cheaper to pick up a wingman in free agency than another big man which I do believe the Hawks need.

Nightman, I don't think you're alone. The Exum over Wiggins selection for me was admittedly influenced by Exum's declaration for the draft and the subsequent momentum. Wiggins still likely has a higher ceiling, but the difference isn't large enough for BPA to overcome team needs entirely.

We've got Lamb, Roberson and Abrines at SG already. I think we add a PG this year if there's a good one available. There are a number of guys we'd be interested in looking at... Semaj Christon, Vasilje Micic, Jahii Carson, Delon Wright, Andrew Harrison & Elfrid Payton. Character, athletic, long, bball IQ and work ethic are the criteria Presti focuses on.

I would love to have the draft fall this way as a Hornets fan. I would not have picked who you picked for us if it did. At 10 I would have gone Hood, Young or McDermott and at 25 I would have gone Hairston or Payne. We need spacing badly and a combination at the 2 and 3 of Hood/Young and Hairston solves that quickly.
