How far up the board can Portland get from a package of 20,26 for I'd love Portland to
get a solid backup center to play behind Nurkic who has missed 20+ games each season
in his first 3 seasons and a front court upgrade from Aminu/Harkless.

I won't be happy if the Wolves end up with Markannen, but I don't want a PG either. This is kind of the worst case scenario for the Wolves with Isaac going 5th.

It's hard to say, but my guess is not very far. Not a lot of teams clamoring to move down a few spots to add a late 1st. That's why Portland's best bet is to take the center with their lotto pick (Allen, Anigbogu, or Patton presumably) and then worry about their other needs later.

Why don't you want Markkanen? He feels like exactly what Minnesota needs. A big man who they can pair with Towns who can shoot from distance and space the floor for their other talented scorers. Rubio/Dunn, LaVine/Shabazz, Wiggins, Markkanen, Towns looks pretty good to me.

Our biggest weakness is defense and Markannen seems condemned to being poor defender. And just in general I think I would avoid bigs who are poor defenders.

There's no reason to think he can't be a capable defender at the 4. He's shown the willingness to mix it up on defense. He won't be a great defender though. Honestly I haven't seen a ton of Wolves games this year, but they seem like they should be a decent defensive team with Rubio, Wiggins, and Towns and with Thibs as a coach.

Towns and Wiggins have been terrible defensively, although that may be a function of youth. I'd still rather get Isaac who has better defensive potential but also a capable jump shot, which covers 2 of our bigger issues.

He hasn't declared and even if he does, I doubt he'd stay in this draft.

I'm getting to think this is going to be a draft with likely no elite talents but with 3 tier 1 players who will be solid,
above average NBA starters followed by a second tier of players who will be quality pros. I really think the value in
this draft is the large group of 30 or so players who be drafted in the late lottery to the early second round. These
guys will be playing a lot of rotation minutes for I see a lot of value in those guys you mock going in the second round.

Personally think the Nuggets would be looking at defenders, so I see them selecting OG Anunoby at 13 and Thornwell with one of their 2nds should it fall the way you predict

I think Monk is the most likely of the group to fall. Would love to have him at 11. What's a good Terrance Ferguson comp?

Meh I think we should pass then. Really need a 3 and d shooting guard in between Kemba and Batum. This draft doesn't seem like we will find one. Any SG you see breaking out in workouts/combine?

Donovan Mitchell certainly could. He has the talent and athleticism to move up in the workout portion.

I love Mitchell, don't know why he's going under the radar. He's short but he's got a huge wingspan with good defense. If his shot and playmaking develops more he could be a really solid player.

Thanks. Portland is in a great spot as their needs match up really well with the top players available where they are picking.
