It's PG/SG/G/SF/PF/F/C/C/Util/Util/Util/Util/Bench/Bench/Bench

Head to Head: FGM, FG%. FTM, FT%, 3PTM, 3PT%, PTS, OREB, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO.

I had the 18th pick...

1. LaMarcus Aldridge
2. Danny Granger
3. JaVale McGee
4. James Harden
5. Jose Calderon
6. Emeka Okafor
7. DaJuan Blair
8. Jerryd Bayless
9. Leandro Barbosa
10. James Johnson
11. Mike Dunleavy
12. Enes Kander
(the last three picks were anti-picks as I had to leave the now 90 minute draft)
13. Nick Collison
14. Dante Cunningham
15. Donte Greene

Thanks Apathy for the expert advice. I swapped out Favors and AK47 for Evan Turner and Okur. Edit: just swapped Derrick Williams for Favors.

Any ideas on who I should target in a trade for DeRozan or Blake? Everyones high on Griffin right now so I think I can get away with some shenanigans.

12 team, 9 cat H2H

PG's: Deron Williams

DeMar DeRozan SG, SF
Arron Afflalo SG
Nicolas Batum SG, SF
Evan Turner SG, SF

Hedo Turkoglu SF, PF
Derrick Williams SF, PF
Blake Griffin PF, C
Chris Bosh PF, C
Anderson Varejao PF, C

Mehmet Okur C
Marc Gasol C
Andrew Bynum C

Here are the top-12 free agents:

Shawn Marion SF, PF
Gerald Henderson SG
Shane Battier SF

Wes Johnson SG,SF
Brendan Haywood C
Brandon Bass PF, C
Jerryd Bayless PG, SG
Gary Neal SG
O.j. Mayo SG
Kenneth Faried PF
Glen Davis PF, C
James Johnson, SF, PF
Gordon Hayward SG, SF

I'm lacking in PG depth, are any of these free agents recommended? I'm liking Beaubois and Steve Blake right now.

Beno Udrih, PG
Mario Chalmers, PG
Rodrigue Beaubois, PG, SG
Leandro Barbosa, PG
Kirk Hinrich, PG, SG
Delonte West, PG, SG

G- John Wall

G- Toney Douglas
G- Kyrie Irving

F- Paul George
F- Kris Humphries
F- Derrick Favors
C- Marc Gasol
C- Timofey Mozgov

thank you and np. are you from the east coast? (i ask cuz of your use of 'mad')

I think this team is better off than the other one I posted, but it's saturated with bigs. Before you bash me for picking 6 centers, just know that I was set on taking the best guys available; I'm thinking I definitely have trade pieces and my league isn't the brightest (I could probably pull off a robbery) so I'd appreciate input on what type of player I could target.

ibaka became overrated overnight. i like him quite a bit but taking him 28th is absurd. it's not like he has 1st round upside or something. he has more downside than upside taken that early. marc gasol, nene, brand, duncan, boozer over him value-for-value all day

7-team Roto 9cat (12 man rosters; shallow as hell)

1. Lebron James, SF/PF
14. LaMarcus Aldridge, PF/C
15. Al Horford, PF/C
28. Serge Ibaka, PF/C
29. Steve Nash, PG
42. *Brook Lopez, C
43. Raymond Felton, PG/SG
56. Greg Monroe, C
57. Kyle Lowry, PG
70. Andrew Bogut, C
71. Mike Conley, PG
84. Tony Parker, PG

you don't have to worry much because you've prob won your league due to the broken snake draft format. getting LBJ, durant or paul is really tough to overcome. then you got LA and horford and nash so it's like... wtf?

your biggest concern is 3s though. you really needed gallo to cement 1st.

*I'm about to drop Brook and here are the top 12 FA's:
Marcus Thornton, SG
Antawn Jamison, SF/PF
Boris Diaw SF/PF
Darren Collison, PG
Jarrett Jack, PG/SG
Roy Hibbert, C
Stephen Jackson, SG/SF
Tony Allen, SG/SF
Jason Terry, PG/SG
Luis Scola, PF/C
Rodney Stuckey, PG/SG
Caron Butler, SG/SF

Diaw is my favorite being the jack-of-all-trades guy.

you could use steals too. in a vacuum i have them rayed:

hibbert
allen
diaw
terry
scola
thornton

i LOVE hibbert and think he's better than bogut. i'd grab allen and hibbert for bogut and parker. you don't need asts (i would imagine) with lbj/lebron/lowry/conley. that's the biggest thing diaw's got in his favor.

TylerTheDebater wrote:I had the 18th pick...

dont wanna burst your bubble but less than 10% you win your league based on that fact alone

1. LaMarcus Aldridge
2. Danny Granger
3. JaVale McGee
4. James Harden
5. Jose Calderon
6. Emeka Okafor
7. DaJuan Blair
8. Jerryd Bayless
9. Leandro Barbosa
10. James Johnson
11. Mike Dunleavy
12. Enes Kander
(the last three picks were anti-picks as I had to leave the now 90 minute draft)
13. Nick Collison
14. Dante Cunningham
15. Donte Greene

blair's not a bad pick w/ the lack of depth in SA and splitter unable to hit a jump shot. bayless and barbosa are forgettable but i dunno what else was out there. eh. deep leagues using snake drafts are **** terrible. quit your league and play auction next year imo. after this year i'm never doing another snake draft again. i'd advise everyone to do the same.

b1ind wrote:Thanks Apathy for the expert advice. I swapped out Favors and AK47 for Evan Turner and Okur. Edit: just swapped Derrick Williams for Favors.

id prob take williams over favors but they're both in similar situations: ultra-talented but crowded positions. chances are you're not gonna have the patience to ride out the bumpiness and drop them in 1-2 weeks anyway, if not sooner. lateral move.

thank god your bigs are great. absolutely phenomenal. trade derozan and griffin for the best PG yo ucan get. derozan for diaw would be perfect. assists out of the SF spot. for that reason hedo is super vital to your team. never thought i'd say that. you do not need SF/SG at all (aside from diaw and maybe joe johnson -- assists from SG, again) so don't acquire any via trade or WW.

Here are the top-12 free agents:

Shawn Marion SF, PF

i think you're right about blake. he was terrible last year but it was an adjustment period. fisher is the WOAT so why not? i think blake can give you 1.5 3s and 4.5 apg, making him a value guy

other than that just keep an eye on james johnson. no one else on that list jumps out. i know you don't need another SF but if JJ does half of what i think he can do...

Thanks for the help Apathy...and no, I didnt draft Amare over Pau. My strategy was to nab Pau followed by Melo, but Pau went one pick prior to mine. And yes, I'm banking on upside...

I think Gasol/Humphries will be my rocks also....I drafted them in the 6th and 7th round respectively.

I'm thinking of dropping Mozgov/Favors or maybe Douglas once BD returns from injury...here are some of the guys available:

Perkins
C. Landry
Jordan Crawford
Brandon Knight
Kemba Walker
Grant Hill
Rip Hamilton
OJ Mayo
Chris Kaman
Camby
Evan Turner
James Johnson
Shawne Williams
Okur
Andre Miller
Austin Daye

Let me know if any of those available stick out over a Mozgov/Favors (I'd probably still like to see how Favors does- especially after his preseason and stats post-AS break and w/ Okur on the Nets now). Thanks for all the help Apathy, Happy Holidays to you and everyone else.

If you got any advice for my team, that'd be awesome. First year doing fantasy, so I didnt really have a strategy going in, I'm in a really small H2H 10 category league ( FG% FT% 3PT% PTS REB AST ST BLK TO A/T) with only 8 teams and I had the 4th pick.

PG - Rajon Rondo
SG - Dwyane Wade
G - Kevin Martin
SF - Paul Pierce (injured)
PF - A'mare Stoudemire
F - Carlos Boozer
C - Andrew Bogut
Utl - Kevin Garnett
Bench - Chauncey Billups
Bench - Andrew Bynum (suspended 4 games)
Bench - Tyson Chandler

I realized after that PP is injured plus I have no other eligible SF (should I keep him on for the first week, even though he wont be playing Christmas day?)
and I don't know who to add, the next best SF's who are available are Steven Jackson Tony Allen, Nick Young, and C.J Miles. And I know he's not a SF but Kris Humphreys is also available.
Is there a certain category I should build my team around or is it too late? What are my strengths, weaknesses and players I should trade away (I was thinking about giving up Bynum or Chandler for a SF but which one should I trade?)
A lot of questions I know, but I'd appreciate you answering them. Thank you! :)
I don't need a watch, I'm on time when I get there.

Thank God for Don Nelson. He makes basketball fun. He and Mike D'Antoni should be revered for doing what most coaches are afraid to do: let players play.

10-person Rotiserrie league with the categories being: PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, FG%, FT%, 3PM

I was unlucky and ended up with last pick, but I thought I did decent enough since I was the most experienced person in the league and ended up with a few late round steals.

PG Steve Nash, Pho PG
SG Tyreke Evans, Sac PG, SG
SF Corey Maggette, Cha SF
PF Blake Griffin, LAC PF
C Emeka Okafor, Nor C
G Monta Ellis, GS PG, SG
F Carlos Boozer, Chi PF

a crapload of talent there. in a vacuum:

okur
knight
kaman
james johnson
landry
andre miller
kemba
turner

tough to rank 'em. for your team you don't need points so scratch kemba, landry, downgrade knight. favors will foul too much to be of use short-term and that WW is too deep for you to waste an active roster spot on him while waiting imo. do like mozgov long-term but think he'll foul too much for any value this season.

okur is the must-grab. you don't care about TOs and if knight breaks out you'd have great trade bait in tyreke evans so... i'd grab knight too. james johnson would be my 3rd choice.

im not sure about kemba but dj augustin + kemba's lack of size + rookie PGs turn it over + bobcats play at a slow pace = not as much upside this year as you'd like. andre miller is worth keepign an eye on; lawson is poor in transition while miller excels, and lawson shoots well enough (and afflalo defends well enough to put him on 3s and slide gallo to the 4, nene to the 5) to where i can see miller geting 30mpg. if that happens he'll shoot to the top of that list. kinda eh on kaman. we'll see how PT shakes out there.

LBJ saves your bacon. loving the james johnson choice, hahaha. rip/derozan/gordon/stuckey hurt you but you'll compete cuz of lebron, gallo and aldridge. you can trade frye due to gallo/gordon.

i'd drop tyrus for knight. tyrus fouls so much that i'm unsure how high his upside really is, starting gig and all. this isn't the first time he's had a starting gig; he's blown it in the past. i dislike j-rich/bargs/cousins/beasley and would do whatever it took to trade them, preferably in 2-for-1s. glad you got okur. does this league count TOs? you really need 3s. try to acquire gallo or frye or terry. or billups.

and I don't know who to add, the next best SF's who are available are Steven Jackson Tony Allen, Nick Young, and C.J Miles.
Thank you! :)

tougher for me to evaluate anything shallower than 10-team cuz i have no experience there but i'll do what seems logical

kevin martin was a bad pick. chandler makes bogut redundant. shop him, and if no bites, drop him once bynum returns. garnett was a great pick. if kevin martin was a pg your roster would be solid.

pierce will be fine, he's a warrior. hopefully. rajon rondo is **** up your team because wade+rondo= no 3s. and because you have no 3s it makes it hard to trade martin. poor team composition is making it hard to suggest any obvious avenues of improvement. get creative, it's gonna take multiple deals (most likely) to get err done. who to target: gallo, elite PGs, joe johnson, frye, terry. your bigs are great.

H2H - 12 Team League

CAT - 'FG%,FT%,3PTM,PTS,OREB,REB,AST,ST,BLK,TO,EJCT'

1. (6) Dwyane Wade (Mia - PG,SG)
2. (19) Monta Ellis (GS - PG,SG)
3. (30) Dorell Wright (GS - SG,SF)
4. (43) Andre Iguodala (Phi - SG,SF)
5. (54) JaVale McGee (Was - PF,C)
6. (67) Jason Kidd (Dal - PG)
7. (78) Andrew Bynum (LAL - C)
8. (91) Tony Allen (Mem - SG,SF)
9. (102) Emeka Okafor (NO - C)
10. (115) Tyrus Thomas (Cha - PF,C)

also any advice would be highly appreciated :)

thanks!

pg: wade, ellis, kidd
sg/sf: iggy, wright, allen
pf/c: mcgee, bynum, okie, thomas

incredible SFs but risky bigs. you can't trade wright cuz you need his 3s + he's not a proven commodity so his trade value suffers. monta, kidd, allen were phenominal picks. you are still kinda low on 3s though. iggy/allen on the same team is a killer.

what's your WW look like?

I was unlucky and ended up with last pick, but I thought I did decent enough since I was the most experienced person in the league and ended up with a few late round steals.

PG Steve Nash, Pho PG
SG Tyreke Evans, Sac PG, SG
SF Corey Maggette, Cha SF
PF Blake Griffin, LAC PF
C Emeka Okafor, Nor C
G Monta Ellis, GS PG, SG
F Carlos Boozer, Chi PF
UTIL Devin Harris, Uta PG
UTIL Antawn Jamison, Cle PF

Bench Ben Gordon, Det SG
Bench Paul George, Ind SF, SG
Bench Tyrus Thomas, Cha PF
IR Brook Lopez*, NJ C

pg: nash, evans, ellis, harris
sg/sf: evans, maggette, gordon, george
pf/c: griffin, okafor, jamison, thomas

obviously losing lopez kills your team and likely your chances. your bigs are incredibly weak. dunno if it's possible to recover from griffin's FT%. probably isn't w/ okafor and jamison also on your roster. that means you gotta dominate the rest.

your wings suck. fortunately your waiver wire should be stacked

LBJ saves your bacon. loving the james johnson choice, hahaha. rip/derozan/gordon/stuckey hurt you but you'll compete cuz of lebron, gallo and aldridge. you can trade frye due to gallo/gordon.
should be stacked

First I'd like to say thanks Apathy. I was lukewarm about all of those SG but I have no tov. category, so I didn't think they were hurting me. Who should I look to trade for?
