Can't believe I dropped Larry Sanders for JO and he goes off like this. :banghead: Should have been more patient with him. Don't know if I should waste my waiver priority on him only to have him disappoint me again.

Question everyone!
8 category league: points, 3s, rebounds, assists, free throw %, field goal%, steals, blocks

I'm first in my league, and I usually win against most teams with points, 3s, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
I'm strongest in the league in points, assists, and 3s. I'm second in rebounds, fourth in steals, and fifth in field goal percentage. I'm middle in blocks, and I'm pretty much among the weakest in free throw percentage.

This is my team:
Kyrie Irving
James Harden
Greg Monroe
Al Horford
Raymond Felton
Damien Lilliard
Andrei Kirilenko
Chandler Parsons
Omer Asik
Brandon Knight
JaVale McGee
OJ Mayo
Amare Stoudemire

I've been hit by injuries lately, and I've been wondering if I should continue to wait for STAT or drop him for someone. Also, George Karl is being a big idiot, so I would not mind dropping JaVale, too, if a better center option is available (unfortunately, I have too many Cs right now). Several guys I've been thinking about are:
-Gerald Henderson- he seems to have come back, but the Bobcats have Taylor and Gordon both needing minutes. Maybe steals? Not sure if a guard can help with field goal percentage.
-Andre Drummond-he's starting to get burn
-Kevin Seraphin-might not help with field goal percentage.
-Eric Bledsoe-Just gets a lot of mini-stats, and shoots well, but his production is all over the place.
-Al-Farouq Aminu-Not sure why he got dropped in my league, but I haven't been following him that closely.
-Jason Maxielle-Solid. Rebounds, blocks, field goal%, but I would need to drop JaVale for him, because I have too many centers

STAT sucks. His career is over.

Karl is an idiot, I agree. Drop McGee. Karl is playing Mozgov over Koufos and McGee. Are you serious?

All those options are about replacement level. The same as McGee, more or less. There isn't really a wrong or right decision.

Nah, you're fine. If he's still around and looks good upon his return, you can drop Kidd, whose 3PT% will regress and who may lose time when Shumpert returns.

Thoughts on Delfino? I'm looking to rid of Landry since I have enough bigs and am first in rebounds, plus he's declining. Threes from Delfino would be useful but it seems like a bold move to just drop Landry for him.

Wow, drop Kidd? I was def smoking crack when I said that.

Delfino is a career 40% shooter. Terrible player.

Yeah I get that but going 3 for 8 isnt killing me in a weekly matchup. The fact that most of those points come on three pointers makes it not so bad. The steals are nice too.

Then you should've pasted your team from the getgo. No one can give you accurate advice w/o the context.

In general dropping productive big for middling SG/SF is a suboptimal decision.

You've already Novak. Don't think you can afford two one-trick ponies. Landry's actually a key glue guy on that team. I'd value him highly as long as he keeps producing.

If it's H2H you should just be streaming Henderson/Patterson/Seraphin spots.

I'm top 3 in my league in 5 different cats, and im 7th in threes so I'm trying to grab more. First in rebounds. Also have a 21-23-1 record which is a bit odd.

You don't think Seraphin and Henderson have good upside? Henderson has been hitting threes so far which is good. Seraphin has been someone I've held for a while now, was thinking he may emerge. Also there's a 4 transaction limit per week.

So you're in a roto league? Check your games played. You can't JUST look at GP. Often times the people ahead of you have played more games. Or maybe y ou only just added Novak and he hasn't had time to take effect. Or maybe 7-4 is super clumped, separated only by a dozen 3s.

Nm, you mentioned H2H record so it's def H2H.

fantasyballin wrote:You don't think Seraphin and Henderson have good upside? [/qoute]

No. To me good upside is top 50. Theirs is what, top 80? Maybe higher for Seraphin if everything goes well?

I loved Henderson last year as a sleeper who would be ~top 80, but that was because he was guaranteed PT. He's not this year. MKG is clearly better than him, Sessions and Gordon cloud the picture, and Jeffrey Taylor is just **** up everything. Henderson's fungible.

Seraphin has been someone I've held for a while now, was thinking he may emerge. Also there's a 4 transaction limit per week.

Seraphin's whatever. Fouls way too much to see 30+ mpg, Wiz frontcourt is crowded, and he doesn't have a single elite skill. You can't grow attached to these young, "well, if everything breaks right..." players.

Utilize that limit every week.

Yeah I added Novak a week ago. My team had 37 threes last week total. My opponent had a ridiculous 68. I guess I'm probably fine to just sit on what I have for now until something pops up.. It's just tough because it's a competitive league and I know if I drop Henderson and Seraphin someone with definitely pick them right up and I'll have 2 or 3 stream spots. I don't want to get burned. The waiver wire is really thin. 12 team league.

Also I was considering replacing Novak with Korver when he gets back. a bit more threes, scoring, FTs, and steals.

What is your team out of curiosity?

Oh, I'm not saying you HAVE to drop Seraphin. I was making an assumption that they were ~ replacement level relative to the wire. Obv you know your league better than mine. I have no choice but to make assumptions about people's leagues and such, and in general I err to the side of it's not particularly competitive.

I'm actually not playing this year. Couldn't find a big $ auction league. I've vowed never to do serpentine drafts again.

Never done an auction draft, but heard good things. Done a serpentine for 8 years now. Sent you a PM about a team in my league with no manager.

They are? News to me. Dunno how to change it. Looked through every avenue of User Control Panel...

You can e-mail me. mr.adam.madison@gmail.com

Re Auctions, the basic strategy is simple; it only requires discipline. Nominate players who will go for a lot. Sit on your money for as long as possible. Have firm $ values on everyone before you walk in (requires a lot of homework). Snatch up players who go too low, but always try to have more $ than everyone else. Price reinforce like a mofo. At the beginning EVERYONE overbids, so if you save your money and price reinforce throughout, you punish the hell out of everyone.
